Co-worker has a tree.

A Plethora?

The Mouse took a few. 🙂

Finally learned how to peel these. Cut about an inch off the top, cut skin into sections, brute force.

In Process

The Cat helped to separate the edible meat from the inedible membrane.

The Reward

Not as juicy as other citrus but the little capsules? have a “popping” texture that makes them fun to eat. Think pop rocks or boba pearls. Hee hee.

At the farmers market.

Mangoes

Vendor said these were a hybrid, Hayden and something else. Ripens later than other types. Did not buy, The Cat is mangoed out this season.

At the vendor stand we frequent were bags of what to The Mouse looked liked shredded paper or cardboard. Turns out it was bamboo shoot, all cleaned and sliced.

Since The Cat is part panda, we bought a bag to try.

Mrs. Vendor said to parboil for 20 to 30 minutes.

Following Instructions

The Cat has fresh bamboo shoots for a couple of days. 🙂

The Cat and The Mouse stayed in after farmers market. Lines to restaurants too long, Father’s day.

Pale Cucumbers?

“Normal” on the right, dunno what on the left. Never saw these before, did not buy.

Breakfast

Scone and li hing apples.

Dinner, The Cat had her bowl of roast duck soba noodles, The Mouse ran out to Mickey D’s for cheap eats.
