The Cat’s schoolmates, from small-kid time. Of course dinner with Chef H (not at his house, his kitchen).

Lobster Bisque

Caesar Salad

Tableside service, always a winner.

Side of Anchovies

The Mouse always politely requests, servers are always very accommodating. 🙂

The Tin

The Mouse is always so tempted to bring a baggie and … restraint. Hee hee.

Fish Course

Potato crusted (The Mouse forgot the type of fish, white), shrimp. Nomz!

Lamb Lollipops

Yuzu sorbet. The Mouse’s favorite.

Looks like kitchen bought new sorbet containers.

Old Time Milk Containers?

Cute ya?

Steak Course

Grilled peach, haricot vert, broccoli/cauliflower hybrid, onion rings. Nomz!

Chocolate Souffle

And Chef H’s favorite dessert to present.

Bananas Foster

As always Chef H. respect! Absolute credit to your profession. Humbled that you consider us friends.

Enjoy. Eat well.

“Since we were in the neighborhood.” Had to make a stop at Manago Restaurant. Super old school.

Almost Twilight

Pickled seaweed, macaroni potato salad, mixed vegetables.

Mahi Mahi

The Mouse’s. Pan-fried, garlic and butter. The best!

The Cat ordered opakapaka, looked so similar the server was confused for a moment.

Hopefully, we can return again.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Last Night of Travel

Suggested restaurant was closed. Early flight out next day. Concierge suggested place might be too pricey. Ate at the hotel bar.

Pork Belly Lettuce Tomato Sandwich

The Mouse’s. Pork belly confit. Well-cooked. Tender, slightly fatty (in a good way). Could’ve used a touch more “umph”. Maybe sriracha mayo? Gojijang mayo? Lau Gan Ma dip? Still good.

Furikake Fish Sandwich

The Cat’s, she liked.

Hilo Bay

Morning view. Too bad we couldn’t stay a little longer. Maybe next time.

Enjoy. Eat well.

This week’s soup bones.

Pork Bones

Not sure which bones these are, not leg bones, not ribs, possibly neck. Not too much marrow. Cooked a shorter time than the feet, took out the bones and shredded the meat.

Soup Meat

The Mouse not decided what to do with the meat yet.

Bitter Melon

Farmers market. May go into the shredded pork meat soup, maybe not. Dunno.

Potato and Butterfish

Leftover banchan from The Mouse’s lunch, small piece of miso butterfish from the grocery store. Super easy, toaster oven 10 to 12 minutes.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Paraphrasing JB, Hee hee.

The Mouse was in the mood for a fish sandwich, not the fried stuff from the fast-food places. First choice, since he was in the area was place near the naval memorials, recommended by a former co-worker, wait too long.

Second choice, golf course “nineteenth hole”, founded by Don Ho’s mom. You know, “Tiny Bubbles” fame? Nice view.

View from the Parking Lot

The Mouse was thinking about soup and sandwich, soup was corn chowder, too much dairy, sorry TMI.

Instead, The Mouse ordered a side salad and the fish sandwich.

Seasonal mixed greens, croutons, balsamic dressing. Nice.

Grilled Mahi Sandwich

Twin Filets Grilled and Served with Lettuce, Tomato and Tartar Sauce. Served on a Homemade Bun.

Classic, nothing gourmet, fish grilled well. Satisfied the craving. Server nice enough to give more of the balsamic dressing for fries dipping. Not malt vinegar but close.

No dessert, the ran out of sweet potato pie. Sigh.

Enjoy. Eat well.
