Lunches from the nearby grocery store.

Stuffed Pollock, Grilled Beef

The Mouse didn’t realize the fish had cheese in it until too late. The lactase pill sorta helped but The Mouse still experienced a little (tiny bit) tummy discomfort. Sigh. The Mouse did enjoy the meal, just suffered a little afterward.

Roast Beef with Gravy, Furikake Salmon

The Mouse enjoyed this meal too. No dairy this time. πŸ™‚

Usually, The Mouse would save some of the fish for The Cat but in these instances, The Cat would consider these fish overcooked. The Cat can be fussy with seafood, very cat-like. Hee hee.

So, both lunches total cost a little over 5 dollars total each meal. Cheap eats.

Stay safe and well.

New restaurant in the neighborhood. Japanese/Vietnamese cuisine. At first the menu looked a bit daunting, especially the Japanese selections until you look closer. Three prices, first is the entrΓ©e, second is sashimi added, and the third is sashimi and tempura added. In reality, the prices are reasonable.

Spring Rolls

Becomes The Mouse’s (and maybe The Cat’s) new favorite spring rolls.

Eye Round Steak and Tendon Pho

The Cat threw in the vegetables before The Mouse could take a pic. The broth was well cooked, the leftover broth gelled. Thumbs up.

Ahi Belly Ginger

Mmm!

Chocolate Tapioca

The Mouse was happy, pudding was made with coconut milk, The Mouse is not a big fan of coconut milk, but better than dairy. πŸ™‚

The Cat has declared this restaurant is on the go-to list. Yay!

Stay safe and well.

The Mouse has a new-ish phone, for some reason, The Mouse dunno why, whenever a pic is taken, there are several other files that show up. The Mouse got mixed up and didn’t see some of the izakaya pics to download. Let’s just call this post izakaya part 2. Sigh.

Tamagoyaki
House Made Tofu with Shoyu Jelly

One of their signature starters. Mmm.

Monkfish Liver

You know monkfish liver? Looks like something Stephen King might dream up? Anyways, the liver has been called foie gras of the sea. The Mouse gave his portion to The Cat’s schoolmate, first time try. Nom!

Fish Bone Chips

Another of the izakaya’s signature appetizers. Mixed in are sardine chips, also deep fried. Both are nom. Hee hee.

Ok, that’s all the pics from the izakaya eats. The Mouse says too much technology, The Cat says operator error.

Stay safe and well.

No reservations, walk-in, a spur of the moment “see if we can get in” dinner. Lucky or maybe because of the health scare that cannot be named. A table available at one of The Cat and The Mouse’s favorite izakaya.

Chawanmushi
Hamachi Collar
Spider Roll
Butterfish
Tempura
Yuzu Sorbet
Flan

The Mouse just realized, the meal began and ended with custard. Good job! Hee hee. πŸ™‚

Stay safe and well.

The Cat has a school mate visiting. The Cat is taking her around SPAM Land, The Mouse is the designated driver. Breakfast in the central part of SPAM Land. Guieb Cafe, Wahiawa.

Eggs with Grilled Mahi Mahi
Chicken and Papaya Soup

Whenever there is soup on the menu, The Cat will probably order.

Ube Mascarpone Pancakes

A little purple to liven up the day. πŸ˜‰

The Cat’s friend ordered crab cake benedicts, no picture, The Mouse didn’t want to be that “nosy”. Hee hee.

Stay safe and well.
