The Mouse has a new-ish phone, for some reason, The Mouse dunno why, whenever a pic is taken, there are several other files that show up. The Mouse got mixed up and didn’t see some of the izakaya pics to download. Let’s just call this post izakaya part 2. Sigh.

House Made Tofu with Shoyu Jelly

One of their signature starters. Mmm.

Monkfish Liver

You know monkfish liver? Looks like something Stephen King might dream up? Anyways, the liver has been called foie gras of the sea. The Mouse gave his portion to The Cat’s schoolmate, first time try. Nom!

Fish Bone Chips

Another of the izakaya’s signature appetizers. Mixed in are sardine chips, also deep fried. Both are nom. Hee hee.

Ok, that’s all the pics from the izakaya eats. The Mouse says too much technology, The Cat says operator error.

Stay safe and well.

No reservations, walk-in, a spur of the moment “see if we can get in” dinner. Lucky or maybe because of the health scare that cannot be named. A table available at one of The Cat and The Mouse’s favorite izakaya.

Hamachi Collar
Spider Roll
Yuzu Sorbet

The Mouse just realized, the meal began and ended with custard. Good job! Hee hee. 🙂

Stay safe and well.

The Cat has a school mate visiting. The Cat is taking her around SPAM Land, The Mouse is the designated driver. Breakfast in the central part of SPAM Land. Guieb Cafe, Wahiawa.

Eggs with Grilled Mahi Mahi
Chicken and Papaya Soup

Whenever there is soup on the menu, The Cat will probably order.

Ube Mascarpone Pancakes

A little purple to liven up the day. 😉

The Cat’s friend ordered crab cake benedicts, no picture, The Mouse didn’t want to be that “nosy”. Hee hee.

Stay safe and well.

An epic eats chef’s choice from Chef H:

Split Pea and Ham Soup
Poke with Caviar, Shiso Leaves, Pesto, and Crispies

One of the best non-traditional poke The Mouse has tasted. Mmm.

Foie Gras, Salad, Raisin Toast Point

Another mmm moment. The Mouse took some of the foie gras home to savor later, The Cat scarfed hers. Hee hee.

John Dory, Steamed Rice, Almonds, Greens, Tomato Coulis

Fish was very moist and tender. Another mmm. 🙂

Lemon Sorbet

Palate refresher. 🙂

Lamb Chops

Usually, The Cat kinda avoids lamb because of the smell but she didn’t mind Chef’s dish. Hardly any lamb smell.

Peach Melba with Mango Sorbet

Perfect ending to epic meal. Thanks Chef H again!

Stay safe and well.

Eating over the weekend. Little Joe’s Steakhouse opened just before the shut-down from the thing that cannot be named. Their happy hour menu is pretty extensive and interesting.

First time trying, The Cat and The Mouse kinda over ordered.

Spicy Negi Toro

Minced tuna mixed with spicy sauce, over rice, toasted nori. Easier to chew. Hee hee. An order again item.

Avocado Toast

Toast, avocado, tomato. Okay.

Seafood Bisque
Grilled Asparagus

The Mouse thinks that in order to have the asparagus at a consistent length, some of the bottoms were not trimmed enough, The Cat had biting/chewing issues.

Steak Tips

Very tender meat, The Mouse’s favorite, The Cat didn’t mind the dish. Definite order again.

Fish Taco

Dish was okay.

Passion Fruit Crème Brûlée

Light and refreshing, there was a key lime vibe going.

When we return, if we don’t try other items on the menu, the spicy negi toro and the steak tips will be definite contenders. 🙂

Stay safe and well.
