Epic Lunch Sequel

The eve before Christmas Eve. The Mouse got realigned, Did an errand for The Cat (picked up a box of chocolate dipped ginger for one of her clients). Had lunch.

But first, since The Mouse was at the store (buying the box of ginger chocolate) …

Chocolate Covered Oreo

A little treat for The Mouse. These are sweet. Can’t eat more than one or two a year.

Okay, on to lunch. I know, yum cha is supposed to be a communal eating event, and for most of the time, The Mouse agrees. But once in a while, it’s good to fly solo.

The Place

Just a few weeks ago the place was Good Fortune, oh well.

Not much change, food seemed the same.

Superstition? Probably. Reward after getting a “thumbs up” from the doc? Maybe.

Whatever the reasoning in my warped mind. Hee hee.

Yesterday’s lunch, at Sweet Home Glad, after a visit to the doctor (regular check-up, old people issues).

Steamed Fish Filet, Ginger and Onion

The steamed fish probably doctor approved, the steamed rice, not so much. Sigh.

But then, The Mouse kinda got a little carried away.

Roast Pork Belly, Pan-Fried Chicken Dumplings

See? Told ya. And no, not everyday, just sometimes. 🙂

While waiting for The Cat, had a little sweet. Nordstrom Gelato Bar

Blood Orange Sorbet

And …

Pineapple Li Hing Mui

The Mouse loved the blood orange sorbet and the pineapple li hing mui tasted great from the taste spoon, but a whole scoop of the pineapple li hing mui was a little too much li hing mui-y for me. Oh well, try try.

Stay tuned, the little plate theme carries over to the next post.

Enjoy. Eat well.

According to the internet, yesterday was National Bacon Day, not to be confused with International Bacon Day (September 2nd).

I usually don’t follow these things, but it’s bacon!

Breakfast, from Zippy’s

Mini Breakfast

Mini Breakfast

Brown rice, one scrambled egg, two bacon (crispy). Nothing fancy, just something to kick start the day.

Wanted to try a place off Ward Avenue, for their lilikoi BLT, on the edge of Kakaka‘ako but there was a line out the door, and no place to park.

Ended up at the mall at La Palme Dʻor for one of their croissant sandwiches. They were sold out of BLT, so got a prosciutto sandwich as a substitute.
