The Cat and The Mouse kinda went lounge hopping for Easter “dinner”.

100 Sails running a half off happy hour special through April. Being pake, gotta take advantage. Hee hee.

Mushroom Flat Bread

The Cat thought okay, no socks off.

Korean Fried Cauliflower

KFC, hee hee. The Cat and The Mouse liked. One half to one sock off.

Cauliflower Close Up

Hummus with Taro Chips

This dish was more “meh”. Either not enough seasoning, or not enough olive oil. Chips were good though.

Uni Pasta Carbonara

This dish was the winner. Squid ink┬ápasta, uni, ikura, shiso leaves. Two socks off. More please. čÖé

Next, headed over to Herringbone (Oyster Hour) for one of The Cat’s favorite vegetable dishes.

Brussels Sprouts and Candied Pecans

So good, The Cat ordered two, one for her bento this week.

And since it is “oyster hour” …

The Cat also wanted to try the restaurant’s signature Buffalo Octopus.

Buffalo Octopus

Slow braised then grilled octopus, spicy sauce, black-eyed peas, ranch dressing. The Cat was more impressed than The Mouse. For The Mouse, flavors didn’t quite mesh together. But, try try.

Dindin ended with a trio of sorbet.

Dragonfruit (only for Easter), coconut, and lilikoi.

Not traditional Easter, but then, why not. Hee hee.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Jus’ random pics.

Garlic Rye Chips

Co-worker commutes by bus. Seems like he stops in at the local Seven-11 while waiting for his transfer. According to him, K, best part of Chex Mix. He may be right.

Rye Chips

Complimented the mini sandwich The Mouse picked up from Seven-11, what a coincidence, great minds … Hee hee.

Chicken Salad Mini Sandwich (Slider?)

Picked up at the farmers market the past weekend.

White flesh, mild tasting, the red fleshed ones are better (just our opinion), but so much more expensive. I guess supply and demand.

Last of the Pork Squash

Leftovers. Hee hee.

Hope to head over to the Japanese supermarket this weekend. Maybe there’s chicken feet, pork hock, or something for soup.

Have a great weekend.

Enjoy. Eat well.

No Hawaiian plate this week.

Coworker got her hands on a Goteborg sausage from Kauai, and shared some with the office. For some reason which The Mouse does not know yet. A Kauai regional food. I don’t think any other island favors┬áGoteborg sausage as much as Kauai. More research is needed.

Goteborg Sausage

Of course The Mouse had to try. For breakfast. Hee hee.

Sausage went well with the planned breakfast.

Vegemite Toast and Dried Plums

With Earl Grey tea. Director brought back a tea bag variety from her trip to Disneyland. Tea. Not Mickey hats. Sigh.

Finally got to try the “Student Special #1” from St. Louis Drive Inn down the hill from campus. Highly recommended by a coworker from the old job.

Student Special #1

Two burgers, French fries, drink. Six bucks.

Chomp View

Burger, a little sauce, bun. No other accoutrements. Super old school. On┬áthe plus side, burger wasn’t drowned in sauce. On the minus side, no lettuce/tomato (at least lettuce). Good to try though.

Another coworker brought in something she didn’t want for the two known food enthusiasts in the office.

Coworker is not a vegetable/fruit eater plus not adventurous in the eating arena. The Mouse offered to cut a piece for her. Nope. That’s okay, The Cat and The Mouse benefit. čÖé

Since The Mouse didn’t have lau lau and or kalua pork on Friday, picked up a little “cat food” on the way home. čÖé

Hamachi Poke

And a little “mouse treat” too.

Smoked Salmon Poke

The hamachi poke for dinner, the smoked salmon poke to snack on.

The Cat had lunch at Romano’s Macaroni Grill.

Eggplant Parmesan

The Cat brought home a little mousie bag, went into the freezer, probably will end up as part of one of The Cat’s bento┬ánext week.

Have a good weekend.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Picked up over the past weekend.

You’ve seen these before.

“Canned” Mango

“Gift” by Chef Hardy. In heavy syrup, The Cat says “yum”. Still not quite sure what the dark thing is though. Have to take a bite/lick later.

Canned Mango on Dragonfruit Peel

For color, hee hee.

Can of Snails

From Chef Zone. Thought I’d try making escargot at home (since The Cat likes it). Online recipes look easy enough, but then, The Mouse “chickened”. Think I’ll have a quick consult with Chef H before attempting.

Happy 4th (if you are so inclined), if not, happy day.

Enjoy. Eat well.

The Cat’s friend took The Cat to a crab restaurant specializing in crab won ton.

Lucky Cat.

The Mouse ate less spectacularly, but still satisfying.

Leftover banchan from Sunday’s dinner, steamed broccoli, and turkey pastrami cold cut.

Dragonfruit and minion food. Along with the leftover kalbi and bulgogi.

Enjoy. Eat well.
