Boba Ice Cream

Over here in SPAM Land, one of the hottest food trends for a couple months now is the boba ice cream bar.

The Cat finally got to try the brand the warehouse distributes (we can’t even buy from the warehouse as employees yet).

Boba Ice Cream Bar

Brown sugar flavor. The Cat is not a boba tea drinker, neither is The Mouse, so the impact probably was not as “knock you socks off” as a person that appreciates boba, but a good try try.

Stay safe and well.

Eat Dessert First

Give yourself permission. Hee hee.

Mixed Berry Pie

The Cat bought for The Mouse (one of his favorite). Fridays only, Irish Pub near The Cat’s office. Not too sweet, kinda tart. Mmm.

Boba Ice Cream Bars

Distributed by our warehouse, selling like you wouldn’t believe. Temporary moratorium on employees buying from the warehouse. The Cat wanted to try. The Mouse bought like a regular customer from the grocery store, only two boxes left before restock.

The Cat hasn’t tried yet, will update when that happens.

Stay safe and well.

Jus’ random pics, cleaning out the phone. Thankfully, Hurricane Douglas veered off at the last minute.

Honey

The Cat took a client to dinner the other night, this was his “omiyage” to The Cat. Honey is produced by bees raised by the university for study and research.

Another Bowl of Noodles

Somen noodles, beet greens, fried egg. Soup noodles. One of The Cat’s favorite foods.

Dessert

The Cat brought home from the client dinner. The Mouse ate for breakfast yesterday (waiting out the hurricane).

Stay safe and well.

The Mouse picked up from the grocery store. Original plan was for fruit. Hee hee.

Pumpkin Crunch

One of The Mouse’s newest favorite go-to noms. As a bonus, the people that produce this yummy treat are part of a non-profit that aims to build independence for thousands of people living challenged lives.

Plus, isn’t pumpkin healthy? Hee hee.

The cat also brought home a treat for The Mouse.

Blueberry Pie

Limited quantity, only made on Fridays. 🙂

Blueberries are fruit, right? 😉

The Mouse heard that there is now oat milk ice cream. There is hope. Hee hee.

Stay safe and well.

Basalt

The Mouse has been wanting to try Basalt at Dukes Lane for a while. But being located in Waikiki and not knowing where to park kinda hindered the try.

Since location is practically empty, The Cat and The Mouse finally tried, especially since prices were lowered for take-out plus an additional percentage off.

Packaging

.

Pork Ribs

Spicy pineapple slaw, waffle fries, BBQ sauce. We substituted rice for the fries. The Cat was impressed with the amount of food, the price, and the packaging. Good job!

The Mouse had a burger. Again.

Basalt Burger

8oz wagyu beef patty, cheddar cheese, brioche bun, lettuce, tomato, sweet onion, Hawaiian Island dressing, french fries. The Mouse 86’ed the cheese and substituted rice for fries. Medium rare. Excellent.

Executive Chef Keith Kong recommended dessert.

Grand Marnier Mousse Cake

Dark chocolate devil’s food cake, raspberry sauce, mixed berries. Rich and decadent. Nom!

While the restaurant still offers take-out as they slowly re-open for sit down service, the discount is pau. Sigh.

Still, the prices are reasonable. When things settle down, The Cat and The Mouse probably will venture into the tourist jungle for a sit down.

Stay safe and well.
