Weird weekend schedule. Super early meeting with a Buddhist minister. Light lunch. The Cat wanted something refreshing. Nearby, a Filipino restaurant. Halo-Halo. Server was kind enough to separate the dairy components for The Mouse. πŸ™‚

Deconstructed Halo-Halo

Condensed milk, ube ice cream, other Halo-Halo ingredients. All worked out, The Cat’s favorite part is the ice cream which she had all to herself. Most of the condensed milk went home for her coffee. The Mouse made an impressionistic art piece. Hee hee.

The cat order two scoops.

Morton’s The Steakhouse running a holiday dinner prixe fix dinner menu. One appetizer (half portion), one entrΓ©e, one side, one dessert.

Both The Cat and The Mouse started with jumbo shrimp cocktail.

Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail

Nom! Next time, The Mouse is going to request extra horseradish. Mmm!

Again, both The Cat and The Mouse ordered Ora king salmon.

Ora King Salmon

This dish is nice because included is a bed of mixed vegetables (cauliflower, edamame, tomatoes, etc). Other steak dishes do not come with the vegetables (Manago hotel plating).

Desserts were different.

Some of our recent take-outs. πŸ™‚

From Chef P., dessert.

Tapioca Pudding with Berries

The Mouse thinks Chef made this for The Cat’s birthday (a couple of weeks ago), Chef forgot. The tapioca was more boba-ish (chewy) than tapioca (soft), but still appreciated.

Tamago, Inari, and Poke

The Mouse’s lunch yesterday, from the grocery store reduced section. Just stocked, totally worth it. Hee hee.

The Mouse went to the nearby mall to pick a card, decided to pick dinner at the food court, ramen shop ran out of rice (sigh), picked side dishes.

Pork Belly and Takana

Boiled a carrot, added wakame, angel hair pasta, topped with pork belly and takana (mustard cabbage cooked with sesame oil and a little shichimi togarashi (Japanese chili powder blend).

Bowl of Noodles (Pasta)

The Cat slurped.

Stay safe and well.
