The warehouse safety officer experimenting again (with the blessing of the boss).

Smoked Corned Beef

Just brined, no seasoning. Mmm. The hot dog was a bonus. Hee hee.

Toaster Ovened Butterfish

Nicely browned. The Mouse finally got the temp and timing dialed in. πŸ™‚

Stay safe and well.

“Irish” Dinner

The Cat worked late last night. The Mouse picked up a plate from the grocery store.

Corned Beef and Cabbage

Lots of food. One scoop of rice went to The Cat’s soft rice for the night, one scoop for her future bento (along with a slice of corned beef, the potato, and a carrot. The Mouse ate another slice of corned beef for dinner, and some of the cabbage and corn, and took one slice for his bento. The Mouse only wished there was more potato. Oh well, next time plan ahead and boil his own extra.

Enjoy. Eat well.

“Tradition”

Yesterday’s lunch/dinner.

Corned Beef and Cabbage Take-Out

I know, not “traditional”, more like immigrant adaptation/adoption. Think “Chinese” chopΒ  suey. Corned beef instead of pork, mash potato instead of boiled, vegetables from I dunno where. Hee hee.

Whatever the case, the plate was delicious. πŸ™‚

After Sunday’s breakfast (corned beef hash), Monday’s lunch.

Corned Beef and Cabbage Plate

Rice, corn, and cabbage went to The Cat’s bento, mixed veggies eaten immediately, corned beef portioned out to at least two sessions.

Didja know that corned beef is not really common Irish? More Americanized? Meat of choice would’ve been salted pork or “bacon”. Yay!

And since I was waiting for the bed sheets to dry at the laundromat (we usually prefer air dry, but the bed sheets are too big and cumbersome), had a matcha smoothie from next door.

Matcha Smoothie

This place lets the customer order the degree of sweetness in their drinks, The Mouse ordered the least amount of sugar. πŸ™‚

One of the better matcha flavored foods in a while.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Happy 3/17 day! Tried to eat “authentic”, but … being in SPAM land, it was haaaaarrrrrd! Although, I did enjoy the meals.

Breakfast. Not from the campus take-out.

Box

Not Saint Patrick but at least there’s a St. in the name. Hee hee. It’s a stretch but …

Corned Beef Hash (Japanese style), Eggs, Rice, Mac Salad

Nowhere near this list.

  • Irish sausages aka bangers
  • slices of Irish bacon aka rashers
  • tube of black pudding
  • tube of white pudding
  • eggs
  • small tomatoes – cut into quarters
  • boiled potatoes – cooled and cut into 1-inch cubes
  • Irish beans
  • Irish butter
  • grated Dubliner cheese (optional)
  • Irish brown bread aka brown soda bread

Gimme a break, The Mouse is thousands of miles from Ireland. Sigh.

Green River

Absolutely no connection to Ireland, but it’s green.

Dinner from the grocery store.

Boiled Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner

Come to find out, the meats should be pork or lamb, not beef. Oh well, come to America, or SPAM land and dishes get “modified”. The Mouse had fun anyway. πŸ™‚

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day! Don’t drink too many green beers.

Enjoy. Eat well.
