The Mouse was craving Chinese roast pork (and a little char siu). A quick stop at the neighborhood Chinese take-out.

The Mouse’s Dinner

Manapua, shiso leaves, apple, steamed rice cake, steamed pork hash. Mmm!

Local style, less dainty, more hearty. Hee hee.

Also picked up a good amount of Chinese roast pork.

Chinese Roast Pork

The Mouse’s layered bento. A few pieces of Chinese roast pork, frozen spinach, braised shredded pork.

Savory Parfait?

Really not a parfait, but you get the idea. Three minutes in the micro at the warehouse, the gelatin from the braised pork melting into the spinach. Nom! Then the Chinese roast pork in the bottom as an extra treat. Mmm! Happy Mouse.

Stay safe and well.

The Mouse’s Saturday plans kinda went awry but turned out okay (actually more than okay) at the end. Original plan was to pick-up a Subway sandwich for dinner (whatever their daily special was), and a cookie (The Mouse likes the Subway cookies). However, due to COVID-19, store closed early (not that any employee was affected, just scheduling). Sigh.

Luckily there was an alternative close by. Kin Sun Chinese take-out. The Mouse ordered “light”. Hee hee.

Siu (Shu) Mai and Crispy Gau Gee

So, philosophically (or is it theoretically), are siu (shu) mai dumplings or meatballs. In this case, the filling is not fancy, mostly pork hash so meatball? But because of the wrapper, dumpling? Semantics, in any case, yum. The crispy gau gee? Again, simply stuffed, but very comforting. One of The Mouse’s pet peeves is when he bites in to any fried dumping and gets “air”. Not happening with these. Fully stuffed. Paws up. 🙂

And … since The Mouse was there … hee hee.

Chinese Roast Pork

Decent execution on the windward side. Saves a drive over to town. 🙂

And the cookie?

Chinese Almond Cookie

The Mouse was satiated. Until next time. Hee hee.

Stay safe and well.

Helping to flatten the curve. Eating in.

One bowl. The Mouse likes. Easy, less dishes to wash, especially if The Mouse is washing. Hee hee.

The Mouse’s breakfast. Leftovers.

Breakfast Bowl

Fried rice, Chinese roast pork, steamed egg. The Mouse is still trying to get the perfect timing for the egg. Good, but maybe 30 seconds less next time.

Stay safe and well.

Comfort Foods

The Cat and The Mouse kinda work stressed. Comfort foods.
