Rice “Bowls”

Grocery store cheap eats. Different days.

Chili over Rice

The Mouse was hesitant, cheese, chewed two lactase enzyme pills, all good. The Mouse did not eat the jalapeño peppers, no rocket blasts. Hee hee. A little over $4 dollars with tax.

Pork Nishime over Rice

A nice surprise at the grocery store, not offered often. Afternoon clearance, with a small brownie, A little over $4 dollars with tax. Thursday was senior day, 5% off the total. Deal. 🙂

Happy Friday.

Be safe, eat good.

The Cat and The Mouse running errands across the mountain. Brunch at Anna Miller’s.

The Place

According to something The Mouse read, there used to be a chain of restaurants mostly in Japan, and one in SPAM Land. As of August 31, 2022, the last of the restaurants in Japan will close leaving the SPAM Land location the last bastion.

The Mouse ordered.

Chili Pot Pie

Also on the menu was chicken pot pie but the cream gravy scared The Mouse. Order came with side salad and cornbread.

Cornbread

The chili was okay, the crust was fabulously flakey, made up for any deficiencies of the chili. Too bad The Mouse can’t try the pie crust with the creamed chicken.

The cornbread was split and grilled. Mmm.

The Cat ordered.

Omelet with Cornbread

Mushroom, tomato, and avocado. The stuffing was generous. The Cat thought the omelet needed a little more oil and salt.

The Cat and The Mouse couldn’t leave without trying a slice of pie.

Pecan Pie

Again, the crust, chef’s kiss, muah! The filling was pretty good too, not overly sweet.

Be safe and well.

One of The Mouse’s go-to places not-so-small-kid time (think teen years) was Rainbow Drive-In. Their boneless chicken with gravy was the bomb!

Restaurant has franchised, a location on the way to or back from Costco makes access a little easier. Hee hee.

Restaurant listed a student special #2, The Mouse inquired if he could order, the server didn’t say no.

The Mouse and The Cat shared.

Chili and Rice Bowl

Chunky ground beef. Mmm. A close second to Zippy’s vegetarian chili. Same but different. Apples and oranges. Hee hee.

Fries

Pretty large portion. The Cat and The Mouse shared.

Slush Float

Strawberry slush with soft-serve ice cream. First time try for The Cat. Slush float used to be one of The Mouse’s favorites. But then, he developed lactose intolerance. Sigh.

At first, The Cat thought the slush float would be too sweet without trying. Result is The Cat liked. Paws up.

All three as a combo, less than eight bucks. Cheap eats!

Be safe and well.

The Mouse has a temporary schedule change. Picked up lunch from Wendy’s on the way home.

Lunch

A Dave’s single, no cheese, and a lemonade. Closest drink to a Green River, Hee hee.

The Mouse’s eyes were bigger than his stomach, saved the chili for dinner.

Wendy’s Chili

The Mouse added thin cucumber slices for vegetable. The Mouse liked the combination. 🙂

The Mouse’s favorite chili is still from Zippy’s but Wendy’s is a good alternative. Plus The Mouse likes that the chili is made from leftover burger patties. Waste not. Thumbs up.

Stay safe and well.
