The Mouse ran an errand for The Cat. Pick up tax documents from Chef H. Chef was preparing the kitchen and staff “family” meal. Chef made a “mousie” and “kitty” package to take.

“Breakfast Sandwich”

According to chef, not your typical breakfast sandwich, Gruyere beer cheese, black forest ham (I think that’s what he said), organic egg. Notice the square bread? The Mouse has a special affinity towards square bread. My kinda chef. Hee hee. Two sandwiches one each for The Cat and The Mouse. The Cat shared hers with her staff, The Mouse ate all of his. Nom!

Chef also packaged a large container of home made chili.

More nom!

The Mouse should stop by the kitchen in the afternoon more often. Jus’ kidding, hmm. πŸ™‚

Enjoy. Eat well.

Jus’ Pics

Pics to finish out the week.

Chili and Rice

A Mouse favorite.

Salt and Vinegar Cucumber

Crunch crunch. Hee hee.

Chinese Red Date Pastry

From JJ2 Bakery, Dunno why there are eight pieces in a package, not nine, maybe a numerology thing?

Rotisserie Pork Loin Plate

Same grocery store, different location.

Not Chinese roast pork, not porchetta, not red braised pork belly, but held its own. Had The Mouse at bacon and mushrooms. πŸ™‚

Thursday Specials

Definitely will return. πŸ™‚

Happy Friday y’all.

Enjoy. Eat well.

But first, update on the pork foot soup.

Solidified Beautifully

Yesterday. First day of classes on campus. Cashiers have to operate their window constantly. As a show of “unity”, no one goes out for lunch.Β Office buys lunch in. The Mouse ordered vegetarian chili.

Office also brought in desserts and snacks (co-worker’s b-day).

After eating the cake and fruit, The Mouse was too full for the chili. Took it home for dindin.

The Mouse’s Dinner Plate

Hollowed out baked potato (from Sunday’s lunch), filled with sun-dried tomato, the potato “inside”, topped with Zippy’s vegetarian chili. Nom! πŸ™‚

Today is supposed to be more of the same, just no “free” lunch. Sigh.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Osso Bucco-ish

One of the pork foot segments, slowly steamed overnight.

Pork Hock

A splash of whiskey, salt, pepper.

On the way home, picked up an order of vegetarian chili from Zippy’s.

Mouse Dindin

Pork shank (not veal or lamb), Zippy’s vegetarian chili, side greens.

Osso bucco? Cassoulet? Not even close, but The Mouse liked. πŸ™‚

You might be thinking vegetarian chili with pork? Sounds contrary, but of all their chili, their vegetarian is the best. Plus, regular chili and pork hock would be way too much meat.

Enjoy. Eat well.
