The Mouse’s lunch. Package of dried instant noodles slightly past the expired date. Funny, The Mouse thought dried instant noodles had a shelf life of forever, like Twinkies. Hee hee.
The package of noodles was part of “emergency” stash (zombie attack, apocalypse, etc.) 🙂
Anyway, cooked the noodles, added wakame and white stemmed cabbage, topped with leftover chicken and fried fish cake. Almost instant lunch.
The Mouse was running an errand for The Cat yesterday. Although it wasn’t exactly a Murphy’s law day, there were moments.
Stopped in to pick-up lunch at the Taiwan style “steak house”. The Cat got a text of new menu items, sliders. The sliders The Mouse was thinking was not what the restaurant was thinking.
Sliders?
The server explained the size was approximately “regular burger” sized, not what The Mouse had in mind. Originally, The Mouse wanted to order a “sample” (one of each), but the cost was prohibitive and The Mouse was scared of the “Xi’an Taste”. The Mouse’s innards can’t handle too much spicy (TMI? Sorry).
The Mouse opted for safe, was not feeling adventurous (neither was his innards).
Chicken Plate
Boneless and skinless chicken thighs, rice, fried egg, vegetables. The Mouse packed most of the rice and fried egg into The Cat’s bento and ate the rest. A better deal than the sandwiches. 🙂
The Cat ran an errand to town yesterday. Picked up dinner from one of our favorite, Sakura Terrace (Japanese bistro?).
Chicken Nanban Bento
Slightly fried chicken top w/house made tartare sauce, rice, miso soup, salad, side dishes x3. The Cat liked. Enough for a leftover bento for the week.
