Location was first restaurant that had a reservation opening. Try try. The Mouse studied the menu beforehand, but alas, the best laid plans … restaurant menu was special Christmas prix fixe menu. Okay, rolling with it.

Location
“Instant Bacon”

Braised pork belly, deep fried, “instant” smoked, soy glazed, served with tempura oyster. For the Cat and The Mouse, meal could have ended here. Eight paws up.

Herb-Roasted Jidori Chicken

Not bad, okay. If The Mouse had a choice, he would have a double order of pork belly. Hee hee. The turnip and the won ton were good. 🙂

Mac-Crusted Mahi Mahi

Again, not bad, okay. The Cat agreed about the double order of pork belly.

Chocolate Cake

The cherries was a nice touch. Okay, next time, double order “instant” bacon and chocolate cake.

Be safe, eat good.

One plate, three meals (two for now).

Char Siu, Chicken Lunch Plate

Local chop suey, only available during lunch hours and weekdays only. Way too much food for The Mouse (getting old). Lots of rice, chicken, and greens leftover.

The Mouse made rice soup with a portion of the leftovers for The Cat’s dinner.

Chicken Rice Soup

Better than canned. Hee hee. Just add wakame. Comfort food.

Be safe and well.

“You do not choose the food, the food chooses you.” Hee hee.

Late afternoon food clearance shopping. One of the drawbacks/benefits is that there is limited planning. Like a daily chalkboard situation.

Fried Rice, Fried Chicken

The Mouse put the bone into a pot and made broth, added rice to the broth to make a rice porridge, topped with the chicken skin.

Chicken Jook, Fried Chicken Skin, Furikake

A package of ube filled mini rolls.

Ube Filled Mini Rolls

Mmm.

Finally, dinner, all clearance. Hee hee.

Whole Wheat Toast, Asian Potato Salad, Popcorn Chicken

“You do not choose the food, the food chooses you.” Hee hee.

Be safe and well.

Li Hing Pineapple

Clearance at the grocery store. 🙂 \ooo/

The Mouse assembled a fruit bowl.

Li Hing Pineapple, Red Grapes, Orange

Grilled Chicken, Mapo Tofu, All Rice

Drive-in take-out. Mmm.

Dinner and two bento. Good deal.

Vegetable Soup

Soup for The Cat.

Wakame, frozen cauliflower and mixed vegetables, sea salt, toasted sesame oil, lots of steam. Hee hee.

Be safe and well.

The Mouse’s lunch. Package of dried instant noodles slightly past the expired date. Funny, The Mouse thought dried instant noodles had a shelf life of forever, like Twinkies. Hee hee.

The package of noodles was part of “emergency” stash (zombie attack, apocalypse, etc.) 🙂

Anyway, cooked the noodles, added wakame and white stemmed cabbage, topped with leftover chicken and fried fish cake. Almost instant lunch.

Lunch

Stay safe and well.
