So a week ago was mooncake day? Both The Cat and The Mouse were too busy. Plus hard to go to Chinatown.

The Mouse picked up some take-out yesterday. In The Mouse’s mind, worthy substitutes, Hee hee.

Fried Mochi Balls

Two bite sized. Perfect. No, The Mouse did not eat them all in one sitting. Warms up great in the toaster oven. The Cat is refraining, still on antibiotics.

Of course, The Mouse made a meal. Hee hee again.

Rice Cake, Char Siu Manapua

One last “must have”, according to The Mouse. ๐Ÿ™‚

Roast Pork and Char Siu

Enough for a couple of days. Nom!

Stay safe and well.

A visit AFTER doctor appointment.

The Place

The Mouse brought his own container. For small orders, take-out is wax paper bag, sometimes resulting in squished food on the way home.

1 Manapua (Char Siu Bao) 3 Pork Siu Mai

Paired with more char siu from the nearby grocery store (apparently, on of the managers used to work as a chef).

Char Siu

The Mouse seriously nommed. ๐Ÿ™‚

Enjoy. Eat well.

Lately, for some reason, The Mouse has difficulty finding lunch on Saturdays. Yesterday was no exception. He couldn’t change lanes fast enough to reach a Japanese musubi and curry shop, the nearby golf course restaurant was closed for a private event. Ugh! The Mouse made his way here.

Front

The Mouse has been here before, a little out of the way for him, not as far as the other side of the mountain, but still, next town over.

Char Siu and Roast Duck on Rice

One of their lunch specials. good taste, good quantity, fair price. The Mouse took home half.

Also ordered a lunch plate for take-out, bento prep.

Lunch Plate

Beef with vegetables, cold ginger chicken, pot roast pork, rice, crispy wonton.

Two plates, four decent meals. Good deal.

Too bad the place is not closer. Maybe just takes a little more effort, and gas, on The Mouse’s part.

Heading out to the farmers market then brunch with doctor friend at Chef H’s restaurant. More exciting and expensive pics to come.

Enjoy. Eat well.

From the lunch wagon that comes around to the warehouse daily.

Char Siu Plate Lunch, No Rice, All Greens

Ketchup and Sriracha for dressing, warehouse made kimchi (bottom left corner). Nom!

Also, the shiso came up for another season. Yay!

Shiso Leaves

Some kinda worm/bug got to the plants last season. Hopefully better luck this season.

Enjoy. Eat well.

The Mouse had a routine lunch, okra and canned fish, peanut butter sandwich. Nothing exciting.

The Cat, normally would not have ordered the daily special, not enough vegetables for her, but.

Ginger Onion Chicken and Char Siu on Rice

Turns out, The Cat likes. There was enough ginger onion sauce to mix into the rice, tasty, the char siu was a little fatty, which The Cat also likes. Because The Cat is still “dieting”, she brought home a sizable portion for The Mouse to “share the guilt”. Hee hee.

The Cat is thinking of doing it again next week, The Mouse might get another “mousie bag”. ๐Ÿ™‚

Enjoy. Eat well.
