The Mouse’s. Rummaging through the pantry and freezer.

Lunch

Steamed rice, natto, “fish steaks” (large sardines) with green peppers. The natto was frozen. The Mouse threw it into the rice while the rice was “resting” to defrost. Natto lost some of its “slime” but okay otherwise. 🙂

Stay safe and well.

Kinda inspired by breakfast soup in Hong Kong (The Mouse saw it on YouTube).

Original ingredients elbow macaroni, vegetables, egg, and some kinda canned meat (e.g. SPAM).

The Mouse’s version (whatever was in the pantry and was fast).

Macaroni Soup

Elbow macaroni, frozen corn and broccoli, lentil curry (from a package), sardines (faster than SPAM), and turmeric. One pot, one bowl (although The Mouse thought about eating straight out of the pot), one spoon. Easy peasy. Hee hee.

Stay safe and well.

Fish Friday

Coincidence. And the fish wasn’t fried, although The Mouse wouldn’t have minded if it was.

Canned Sardines over Steamed Brown Rice

Simple, two ingredients (not counting the dried parsley The Mouse sprinkled for garnish). Becoming a work at home favorite lunch.

For a treat, The Mouse picked up a small portion of kamaboko poke.

Kamaboko Poke

Japanese fishcake tossed with toasted sesame seed oil and furikake. Mmm.

Stay safe and well.

Sardines, not body description. The Mouse’s lunch.

Sardine Rice Bowl

Steamed rice, canned sardines (with skin and bones), pickled peppers. Mmm!

Yes, sardines with skin and bones do taste better to The Mouse. 🙂

Stay safe and well.
