Not too much happening food-wise. The Cat and The Mouse doing some clean up before the new year. The Mouse dug into one of the Christmas candies.

Chocolate Bar

The Mouse likes their orange peel chocolate bar. This one was okay, The Mouse would have preferred more fruit.

For dindin, The Mouse “cleaned” the pantry/refridge.

The Cat’s Noodle Bowl

Ramen, celery tops, bamboo shoot, dried vegetable. The Cat slurped.

Pau for now.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Not low-calorie. More “research”. I know, it’s a tough job, but someone has to do it. 🙂

On of the chefs has been battling diabetes for some time. He’s thinking about developing a sugar-free confection, probably not a ganache bon bon, more of a candy bar.

The Cat bought two sugar-free chocolate bars “just to see”.

Usually, The Cat is too busy, or too rushed to sit down and “relax”. But since today was a holiday, gave us a chance to sample the bars.

I think the Godiva bar was milk while the See’s bar was dark. The See’s bar was good, just not sweet enough for my taste (it is sugar-free after all). I prefer the Godiva bar, a milder taste (maybe because it was more milk chocolate).

Would we buy this again? Dunno, the prices were slightly higher than “regular” sugared chocolates. It works if someone has health issues but for us who don’t have sugar issues (so far), maybe not really necessary. As in everything, moderation is the key.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Wasabi Kit Kat

I friend came back from Japan recently (he left Japan just before the earthquake/tsunami/radiation), and shared some wasabi flavored Kit Kat.

Wasabi Kit Kat

I thought it might be chocolate with wasabi, like chocolate bars with chili that is sold here. Turns out, it’s white chocolate with wasabi.

Kit Kat Bar

It’s actually pretty good, better than I expected. I would actually buy this if it was sold here. Apparently, Nestles makes limited edition Kit Kat bars with different flavors for the Japanese market (I saw a package matcha flavored Kit Kat bars at the Japanese warehouse market recently). Go figure.

Enjoy.
