Chef’s choice dinner. πŸ™‚

Amuse Bouche

Venison, poached pear, spinach, demi-glace. The Mouse could have had this as an entree. Mmm!

Salad

“Caesar” salad, red wine vinaigrette, hearts of palm, extra anchovies. The vinegar and anchovy taste combo. Mmm again.

Salmon

With pasta, tomato coulis. Not sure about the preparation of the salmon, well cooked.

Dry-Aged Duck

Again, The Mouse didn’t get the preparation again, tasted a little plum-like flavor. The Cat and The Mouse had take most home for later. The venison and the duck, the best.

Banana Foster

Mango sorbet. Great combination.

Overall, inspired meal. πŸ™‚

Be safe and well.

Servers wearing masks, tables spread out. The “new normal”.

The first eat-in event for The Cat and The Mouse had to be with Chef H.

Food pics.

Location

.

Almost Sunset

.

The Cat’s Cocktail

Candied Hibiscus Martini. There was a taste hint li hing mui going on (The Mouse’s opinion).

Amuse-Bouche

House smoked salmon, caviar, cucumber crostini. Let the yumming begin!

Tomato Bisque, Fresh Tomato Relish

If The Mouse could presume to suggest to a executive chef, just a little side bite (1/8 of a sandwich) of a grilled cheese sandwich (The Mouse was prepared with lactase pills), would’ve been perfect. Just putting it out there. πŸ™‚

Caesar Salad with Anchovies

Our favorite place for Caesar salad. So just another tiny “wish” for Chef. An amuse-bouche of a mini onigiri with anchovy and ume, wrapped in crispy seaweed. Again, just tossing it out there. Hee hee.

Crispy Skin Roasted Salmon, Risotto with Truffles, Pesto

The salmon so moist and well cooked, the skin as crispy as bacon. There’s an idea, okay, The Mouse is stopping, no more suggestions for Chef on this post. Hee hee.

Roast Lamb Chop, Hoisin Glaze, Fingerling Potatoes

Really yum, but by then, The Cat and The Mouse were full, so after a little bit of nibbling, most of will become The Mouse’s bento tomorrow.

Chef was happy to see us, The Mouse thinks he was happy to be back in his kitchen environment. πŸ™‚

Stay safe and well.

Lobster Bisque

.

Caesar Salad

Tableside service, always a winner.

Side of Anchovies

The Mouse always politely requests, servers are always very accommodating. πŸ™‚

The Tin

The Mouse is always so tempted to bring a baggie and … restraint. Hee hee.

Fish Course

Potato crusted (The Mouse forgot the type of fish, white), shrimp. Nomz!

Lamb Lollipops

.

Intermission

Yuzu sorbet. The Mouse’s favorite.

Looks like kitchen bought new sorbet containers.

Old Time Milk Containers?

Cute ya?

Steak Course

Grilled peach, haricot vert, broccoli/cauliflower hybrid, onion rings. Nomz!

Chocolate Souffle

And Chef H’s favorite dessert to present.

Bananas Foster

As always Chef H. respect! Absolute credit to your profession. Humbled that you consider us friends.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Rhetorically, which would you choose? Hee hee.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Last week’s dinner, epic for The Cat.

Started with a text to Chef H, our menu choices: Caesar Salad, lobster bisque, crab cake, Vitello Tonnato (to try), lobster risotto, and souffle for dessert.

Chef responded “Looking at the menu … I say leave it to Chef.”

Ok, sigh, he has never steered us wrong.

To The Cat, from Chef

The Cat’s cocktail.

Watermelon Martini

Chef’s tasting menu: Lobster Bisque, lobster in cognac, flamed at table (The Mouse didn’t take a pic).

Caesar Salad

Extra anchovies on the side for The Mouse. Nom!

Crab Cake

Black bean sauce, tomato coulis, tropical fruit garnish.

Vitello Tonnato

Yellowfin Ahi sashimi, oven-roasted veal, white tuna sauce, pesto and caper vinaigrette. The Mouse wanted to try based on the menu description. Try try. The Mouse thinks, could’ve used a shoyu wasabi (or Coleman mustard) dipping sauce, but don’t tell Chef. Jus’ The Mouse’s Asian palate.

Yuzu Sorbet

Palate cleanser. The Mouse could eat a bucket of this.

Wagyu Rib Eye, Morel Mushrooms, White Asparagus, Lobster Risotto

Chef (restaurant) flew the white asparagus in from Holland. Jet lag. Hee hee.

Grand Marnier Souffle

.

Fireworks

.

Orange Peel Fire Fountain

The Mouse always loves this part.

Banana Foster

Chef loves presenting this dessert. Locally grown apple bananas.

See? Told ya epic. If you notice, all of the items listed/requested were on the menu and more. So publicly, it’s Chef’s choice menu, but The Mouse privately had some input. πŸ˜‰

Enjoy. Eat well.
