Taco Tuesday

Been wanting taco for a bit. Kinda didn’t want to do take-out, soggy taco. The urge hit yesterday. The taco take-out The Mouse was headed for had no parking at all (it’s in a residential area), three cars deep.

Alternative. Taco Bell. I know not the best, but.

Soft Taco and Rice and Bean Burrito

Soft taco are not the most photogenic. Hee hee.

The meat and beans kinda reminded The Mouse of elementary school cafeteria food, in a good way. The no cheese option was a bit lacking but better than the consequences. The Mouse is satiated, kinda sorta.

Used both Lau Gan Ma and Cholula Chipotle sauce. Both worked well.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Another “weird” Saturday schedule, expected for the holiday season. The Mouse’s car needed oil service. Early morning appointment. Bonus! dealership had free popcorn! The Mouse ate a small bag, no salt, no butter. 🙂

Late breakfast, just missed the MickyD cutoff. “Filipino” take-out.

Meat Close Up

The Mouse chose fried rice, needed Lau Gan Ma, sausage and SPAM were well prepared, kitchen plated spinach instead of the onion and tomato salad, no vinegar dressing. Maybe kitchen thought since The Mouse wasn’t Filipino, tone down the flavors. That’s ok, spinach, wilted by the hot meat was good too (with a touch of Lau Gan Ma).

For dinner, went to our favorite Mexican restaurant on the Windward side. Not only for the food, but for the musical stylings of (never got his name). Have to ask next time.

First time for The Cat.

Giant Burrito

The Cat wanted to try, she surrendered after about a third. Remainder is for The Mouse’s bento tomorrow.

The Mouse ordered the usual fiesta bowl but this time with seafood (swai fish and shrimp).

Seafood Fiesta Bowl

No dairy, extra lime and salsa. The Mouse’s bowl was good, but he thinks he will be sticking to carnitas and chile verde in the future.

Farmers market and last minute Christmas shopping on the schedule today.

Enjoy. Eat well.

The Mouse’s First Burrito

Don’t know why The Mouse hasn’t tried a burrito before. He does like wrapped things, lau lau, tamale, pastele, won ton, xiao long bao, etc.

Update: He has eaten the breakfast “burrito” from MickyD’s but he doesn’t count those.

Since The Mouse’s favorite neighborhood Mexican restaurant now closes on Sunday, he had to eat Saturday. The usual order is their Fiesta Bowl with carnitas or chile verde, but this time he ordered a burrito, and not just any burrito, their “grande”.

Grande Burrito

Shredded chicken and beef, beans, rice, salsa, and cheese (omitted by The Mouse’s request).

Interior

The Mouse has a new favorite dish! Nomz. 🙂

Next time though, The Mouse is going to request another selection besides the shredded beef, he thinks it was the weakest link. Maybe ground beef or if they would allow it, carnitas.

Enjoy. Eat well.
