Diner Brunch

The Mouse wonders why is it when meeting with sales people, quite often it is a looong process. Ugh.

A necessary appointment with a salesperson. Two-plus hours.

Luckily The Cat and The Mouse learned after the first appointment (the first was over three hours).

Diner at the mall. Weekend brunch menu. Yay!

Loco Moco with Onions
Vegetable Omelet with Hash Brown

Can you guess who ordered what? Hee hee.

Stay safe and well.

A “dangerous” question when talking with Chef H. The Mouse dropped off something for Chef H. (he just bought a new “toy” and The Mouse found an accessory thought he would like). Chef mentions he is making lemon biscuits for brunch service. The Mouse passed on the information to The Cat, and reservations were made form brunch. Hee hee.

Muesli and Lemon Biscuit

This is The Mouse’s bowl. the regular order added yogurt and Devonshire cream.

Abalone and Wild Mushroom Chowder
Tomato Salad

Chef topped the salad with several thick shavings of truffles. Mmm, a treat.

Of course, since we are at his kitchen, The Mouse asked for a few anchovies for the salad.

Kona Crab Eggs Benedict

Locally produced egg. The Cat nommed.

Slow Roasted Prime Rib

With potato and veggies. The Mouse nommed, and nommed the leftover too. 🙂

Tapioca Pudding
Mango Sorbet with Berries

Here’s the kicker. there were several cancellations and no-shows for brunch. Chef had extra biscuits, he sent us home with a box.

Lemon Biscuits

Thanks Chef H! Mmm! 🙂

More accessories on the way.

Stay safe and well.

Another errand in the Kalihi area. The Mouse has been interested in Guieb Café for a bit. Saw an internet post of their Honey Acai French Toast, The Mouse drooled. Hee hee.

Honey Acai French Toast

Topped with berries, banana, granola and honey, server recommended honey on the side to control the sweetness. The Mouse liked the warm French toast contrasting with the cold scoop of acai sorbet. Mmm! The granola and fruits added nice texture too. The Mouse would order again.

Another dish The Mouse wanted to try was the Bao Bun Benedict.

Bao Bun Benedict

Charsiu pork belly, fresh cucumber & cilantro with hoisin hollandaise. Hollandaise on the side because the server wasn’t certain there was no dairy in the sauce. Cute yeah?

Dish was great except kitchen slightly grilled the bao bun, changed the texture from soft and pillowy to kinda “stale”. Deep sigh.

The Cat was drawn to The breakfast wrap.

Cali Wrap

Spinach tortilla, avocado, bacon, tomatoes, spinach, cheddar cheese and scrambled eggs. Served with fresh fruits, salsa and sour cream. The Cat liked.

A return visit soon. 🙂

Stay safe and well.

The Mouse finally got to try Egghead Cafe. Used to be located where parking was an issue. Moved near the warehouse. Made a Costco run yesterday (the warehouse is currently located really close to Costco). The Mouse picked up late “brunch” after.

Avocado Toast

Avo corn toast: avocado corn spread, basil aioli, paprika, added soft scrambled egg.

Dish was good, The Mouse would have preferred a more aggressive seasoning, maybe some chili flake? The corn did not excite The Mouse.

Porky Bowl

Rice, braised pork belly, fried egg (crispy), and pickled vegetables. The Mouse liked this one. A little dash of ponzu at home, and yum.

A good try try.

Stay safe and well.
