Non-noodles, kinda. Low-carb.

Yam Noodles

The Mouse followed directions, boiled for three minutes, drained. The noodles had an ocean-y smell.

The Mouse made a bowl.

The Mouse’s Bowl

Yam noodles tossed with salt, pepper, Szechuan pepper powder, olive oil, boiled cabbage with furikake, popcorn chicken, kamaboko fishcake, and leftover egg fu yong. The noodle texture was stiffer than regular noodles. Not sure if The Mouse would opt this on a regular basis. Once in a while maybe.

One of The Mouse’s favorite snacks, usually in packages of five, too many.

Individual Dorayaki

Japanese pancake sandwich with red bean filling. The Mouse got excited with the individual package. 🙂

The Mouse made a rustic cabbage slaw.

Cabbage slaw

Chopped cabbage, Kewpie mayonnaise, salt, pepper, paprika, dried chives. Mmm!

Next time, The Mouse might add a few capers and the brine liquid. 🙂

Pig Feet

The Mouse running errands in town. Picked up an order of vinegar braised pig feet from Nice Day Chinese Restaurant.

Pig Feet

Sweet sour with lots of ginger. Braised a long time, gelled solid. The Cat liked.

The Mouse made a bowl.

Colorful

Brown rice, vegetable toppings from a salad, pig feet. The vinegar “au jus” seasoned the vegetables nicely. 🙂

Udon noodles, baby corn, wakame, celery, zucchini, dried pork sausage. salt and pepper to taste. 🙂

Anchovy Rice

The Mouse opened the jar. The Cat brought home a couple of weeks ago. The Mouse thought better try while “fresh”.

The Mouse steamed rice, added wakame, frozen vegetables, topped with anchovies and pickled turnip.

Lunch!

Kinda like mixed rice. The Mouse was happy. Mouthwash and brush teeth after, fishy breath. Hee hee.

Funn Noodles

The Cat’s favorite noodle type, funn noodles.

The Mouse threw together dried mushrooms, leftover choi summ, wood ear fungus, and wakame.
