Wall Art and Drinks

Last night, the teacher/mentor/trainer that The Cat took a public speaking class from debuted her new book. The Cat went to support, The Mouse tagged along.

Manifest in Chinatown.

Wall Art

The place looks like an alleyway between two buildings. Exposed brickwork, cement floor, bare bones. Upscale dive bar?

The Place

I think because of the exposed brick, and cement floor, the place gets very noisy. Too noisy for The Mouse.

More Wall Art

The Cat and The Mouse each got a coupon for a beer or soft drink.

No Feet Soup (Frown)

The neighborhood grocery store we normally frequent had no pig feet for sale. Sigh.

The other neighborhood grocery store we sometimes go to (prices are higher) no longer carry chicken feet nor pig feet. Ugh!

Probably have to drive over the mountain to the Kalihi area for chicken feet or pig feet. 😦

Only soup ingredient conveniently available was beef and pork bones, and The Mouse is not too fond of beef.

Pork Bones

Add can of beer.

Beer

Jus’ because. And a couple drops of apple cider vinegar (supposed to help to extract the nutrients from the bones).

Let simmer for hours (I dunno, maybe five plus?).

Add vegetables (yesterday it was turnip, Chinese okra, and Shanghai cabbage).

Pork Bone Beer Soup with Vegetables

Not sure if this soup will jell up. Let you know tomorrow.

Enjoy. Eat well.
