The Mouse was craving a liver pâté bahn mi sandwich, feeling maybe needing a little iron boost, Nearby Japanese/Vietnamese go-to restaurant.

Pâté Bahn Mi

Mmm! 🙂

Whenever The Cat and The Mouse visit Saito & Pho, majority of the time start with their spring rolls.

Spring Rolls

The accompanying noodles, vegetables, and herbs enhance the like. 🙂

The Cat ordered her usual oxtail pho, no picture, too many. Hee hee.

Be safe, eat good.

Lucky the restaurant was still open. Whew.

Too late to order oxtail soup, too heavy. The Cat ordered lemongrass chicken and spring roll vermicelli.

Vermicelli Noodles

First time try for The Cat, light and refreshing.

The Mouse finally got liver spread.

Pâté Bahn Mi

Mmm! The Mouse may ask restaurant where they source the pate. 🙂

Old School

The Mouse been wanting a bahn mi sandwich for awhile, but with steamed pork and pate. There are several places nearby but only one, maybe two, with that specific filling. The Mouse went to one of the original sites, kind of a hole in the wall (in a good way).

Mmm, yummy. The steamed pork is kinda like very mild SPAM, a good thing. The Mouse always likes liver spread.

Happy mouse.

Stay safe and well.

Mmm! Bahn Mi

Accompanied The Cat to a new client meeting. Lunch afterwards. Original plan was dim sum, but plans go awry. Waits for Olive Garden and CPK too long. Ended up at Vietnamese at the mall.

The Cat wanted spring rolls as appetizer.

Not quite enough lettuce to wrap, one short. The Mouse ate one deconstructed. Hee hee.

The Mouse ordered:

Bahn Mi
Description

Usually, The Mouse does not have too much luck with pork belly outside, but this was the exception. Tender, tasty, just the right amount of rendered fat to enhance the bread. Next time, The Mouse is going to ask for more liverwurst spread. Mmm!

The Cat ordered:

House Special Pho

A lot of meat, The Mouse had to help. Happy to oblige. Hee hee.

For dessert:

Fried Bananas and Ice Cream

This was a good. The Mouse ate most of the fried bananas, The Cat ate most of the ice cream. Win win. 🙂

Stay safe and well.

Middle Eastern dish from a “French” bakery, owned by Vietnamese. Fusion? One of the accounting staff is heading to medical school. Controller bought lunch for the section. The Mouse wanted to try something different. Sometimes, be careful what you wish for.

Falafel Banh Mi

Falafel, Harissa Hummus, Firecracker Sauce, Pickled Carrot & Daikon, Avocado, Cucumber, Cilantro. To The Mouse, the pickled carrot and daikon and the falafel kinda clashed in flavor, once the vegetables were removed, and eaten separately, the sandwich was pretty good. The bread was really good (better be since it’s supposed to be a French bakery).

The Mouse could only eat half. the other half was eaten for dinner. By that time the falafel kinda got squishy. Became more of a bean spread than falafel. Not as appetizing. Hee hee.

“Nothing ventured, nothing gained.” 🙂

Stay safe and well.
