The Mouse’s lunch. Grabbed in a rush, cleaning out the refridge.

Veggie Patties, Seafood Cocktail Sauce, Sriracha Sauce

The Mouse is not a big fan of veggie patties, supposed to be healthier, prefer the beef (or pork) burger instead. The sauces kinda helped. Hee hee.

You like veggie patties?

Stay safe and well.

Eaten on the same day as the vegetarian chili. Coincidence? Conspiracy? Nah, just in the mood. Hee hee.

Started with.

Deep Fried Tofu

The Mouse said it was vegetarian, not necessarily healthy. Hee hee.

Faux Ground Beef

Same brand as the faux chicken strips The Mouse was not a fan of. The “beef” crumble was much better. The Mouse would buy this “crumble” again. Paw up.

Frozen Spinach

Nuked the whole thing at the warehouse for lunch. Not bad. The Mouse made the mistake of salting the spinach before nuking. The crumple had enough seasoning for the tofu and the spinach without extra salt. Next time, no salting.

So, The Mouse is trying to cut back on the volume and frequency of consuming carbs. Not cutting out entirely, just limiting. At the doctor’s scale yesterday, lost a few pounds, long way to go, but at least going in the right direction. Yay!

Enjoy. Eat well.

The Mouse’s favorite at Zippy’s.

Zippy’s Vegetarian Chili

Their vegetarian choice adds mushrooms and corn to the mix. Mmm.

The Mouse added turmeric and dried parsley. The turmeric added a different taste The Mouse is not opposed to.

Rushing off to another doctor appointment. Ugh! Too many doctors lately. Oh well.

Enjoy. Eat well.

A try try.

The Mouse having an indecisive moment trying to find something to pack into his bento lunch.

The Strips

Kinda pale looking. If you squint real hard, maybe chicken? Hee hee.

Packed the strips in today’s bento with some real grilled chicken, for comparison.

Real Chicken

The Mouse will let you know the verdict.

Enjoy. Eat well.

The Cat has a semi-homebound client that she has been delivering her prescriptions for. Recently, the client has had some health issues that kept her on pretty much a liquid diet.

Client finally was cleared by her doctor to eat again, The Cat thought she might like a real food meal, and some company. Unfortunately, client suffered a setback (not eating related) and cancelled lunch.

The Mouse and The Cat decided to pick up food and drop it off so at least she has something to eat, and since we were there, might as well eat too.

Chicken Consomme

Standard complimentary starters at the restaurant. The Mouse loves the popovers. Nom!

The Mouse’s Bowl

Red and golden beets, sweet onions, edamame, radish, carrots, avocado, Japanese pickled daikon, furikake brown rice, sesame dressing (menu description)

This dish was good, vegetarian, ordered another for The Cat’s client. Too bad there were no simmered shiitake mushrooms, just a bit of umami.

The Cat’s Plate

Misoyaki Kona kampachi, multigrain rice, garlic ginger choy sum, king crab namasu, kabayaki butter (menu description).

The Cat Ended the Meal with Coffee

Packed up chicken consomme, three popovers, and the beet bowl for the client. very appreciative. The Cat did good.

Enjoy. Eat well.
