Stir Stir Stir

The Mouse bought off of the clearance shelf at the grocery store, if he remembers, more than half off.

Almond Butter

The oil separated from the solid. The Mouse stirred for at least half an hour. Workout for the day. Hee hee.

Not enough cinnamon. The Mouse added a couple of teaspoons and stirred some more, another ten minutes at least.

Spread on toast.

Almond Butter on Toast

Verdict: Will this replace peanut butter? Uhm, no. But, a good try try. 🙂

Stay safe and well.

The Mouse had a coupon. Try try.

Cheap Eats

The chicken fries were kinda dry (chicken nuggets, different shape). The Mouse threw the chicken and French fries in a sandwich.

Weird Eats

Drizzled honey mustard sauce. Overall okay (more toward meh), lucky The Mouse had a coupon.

Also picked up a package of chocolate chip cookies.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Not bad, The Mouse’s opinion though, MickyD’s are better, the fries too. But always good to try.

Stay safe and well.

The Mouse saw this at the market this past weekend.

Salted Butterfish Ends

The Mouse bought a package to try try for The Cat (price was reasonable compared to regular butterfish pieces).

Soaked a piece in water, changing the water twice. The Mouse thinks the time was not long enough. The fish was still too salty, like a salt lick. Fail. Sigh.

The Mouse still has four more pieces to experiment with. Longer soak time more water changes, maybe even a par boil. The Mouse will update.

Stay safe and well.

Food Court Finds

Kinda part 2 from previous post. The Cat ran an errand at Macy’s, The Mouse browsed at the food court nearby.

The Mouse and The Cat found a few noms for dinner (small noms, not major entrée stuff).

BBQ Chicken Maki Sushi

To The Mouse the sushi was like a hybrid between Japanese maki and Korean kimbap. Whatever, it was Mmm. The Mouse’s one suggestion would be to include a little kimchi.

So, while The Mouse was inquiring about his free bread, The Cat found (and bought) these.

Bakery Noms

Kuro goma (black sesame) mochi donut and yuzu (citrus) melon pan (or is it melonpan). Anyways, a kinda sweet bread roll. The Mouse thought he could taste yuzu zest in the roll. A good try try. 🙂

Stay safe and well.

Frozen Food

The Cat brought home a couple of frozen items. The Cat didn’t care for the won ton soup so brought home for The Mouse. Remember the Life cereal commercial with Mikey?

There was also a package of buns filled with lotus seed filling.

The won ton soup:

Frozen State

Instructions only for microwave cooking, ugh. The Mouse placed the contents into boiling water and simmered for a couple of minutes.

Bowl #1

Everything except for the carrot came in the container.

Bowl #2

The Mouse added more frozen vegetables and wakame seaweed.

Overall impression, and The Mouse tried twice, was meh. The noodles and won ton wrapping was a little mushy. Given the choice, The Mouse prefers the frozen saimin with added SPAM and kamaboko.

The buns faired better in The Mouse’s opinion.

Lotus Seed Buns

Steamed for a couple of minutes, kinda nom, not favorite, but acceptable.

Note to The Cat, The Mouse is not Mikey. Hee hee.

Stay safe and well.
