The Cat’s “new” discovery. She took one of her classmates for his birthday. Japanese restaurant.

Chirashi

“Scattered” sashimi over rice. Think deconstructed nigiri in a bowl, the casual cousin. ๐Ÿ™‚

Supposedly less skill required than sushi/sashimi masters. Maybe, even The Mouse could attempt. Hee hee.

Be safe and well.

Sunset Dinner

Valentines’ Day is tomorrow. The probability of dinner on Monday is zero to nil. Saturday dinner instead.

Sunset
Sashimi / Sushi

Hamachi sashimi and ikura nigiri. The hamachi was really fresh.

Salad

Sensei Farms Lettuce: Avocado, tomatoes, sesame seeds, tofu croutons, fresh herbs, edamame, wafu dressing. Mmm. Good salad.

Kona Kampachi

The Mouse thinks roasted, included snap peas (underneath) (no picture). One of the best preparations of snap peas The Mouse has tasted (his opinion). The server substituted rice out of regard that dairy might be in the potatoes. Much thanks.

Roasted Pacific Sea Bass

Kabocha squash, Thrive Farmโ€™s bekana, yuzu shichimi dressing. The Cat traded the bekana for The Mouse’s snap peas, a little hard for The Cat to chew.

Desserts

Macadamia Cake: Marinated pineapple, rum, coconut gelato (on the side).

Chocolate Cremeux: Hawaiian sea salt, cookie crunch, vanilla chantilly cream (on the side), chocolate sauce.

The Mouse liked the cake, The Cat favored the cremeux. ๐Ÿ™‚

Stay safe and well.

Food Court Finds

Kinda part 2 from previous post. The Cat ran an errand at Macy’s, The Mouse browsed at the food court nearby.

The Mouse and The Cat found a few noms for dinner (small noms, not major entrรฉe stuff).

BBQ Chicken Maki Sushi

To The Mouse the sushi was like a hybrid between Japanese maki and Korean kimbap. Whatever, it was Mmm. The Mouse’s one suggestion would be to include a little kimchi.

So, while The Mouse was inquiring about his free bread, The Cat found (and bought) these.

Bakery Noms

Kuro goma (black sesame) mochi donut and yuzu (citrus) melon pan (or is it melonpan). Anyways, a kinda sweet bread roll. The Mouse thought he could taste yuzu zest in the roll. A good try try. ๐Ÿ™‚

Stay safe and well.
