The Mouse had a minor food hunt snafu over the weekend. Ended up buying a vegetable plate from the Korean take-out at the nearby shopping mall.

Vegetable Plate

Cucumber kimchi (very mild), rolled egg omelet, pickled seaweed, salted cabbage, braised potato (for The Cat’s bento). Mmm! A good detour.

Because The Mouse wanted a little starch, not too much.

SPAM Musubi

Not from 7-Eleven, from the local grocery store. Bonus, it was day-end priced. 🙂

Be safe and well.

Not too exciting, except for The Mouse. Lunch.

Bologna and Shiso Sandwich

Yellow mustard, Japanese mayonnaise, red grapes.

Dinner, kinda cleaned out the refridge.

Corn Dog Discs, SPAM, Shiso, and Bell Pepper Slider

Bulldog sauce. Mmm. 🙂

Be safe and well.

The Mouse finally got one. SPAM slicer.

Not Torture Device

The Mouse never could slice SPAM uniformly. Was a little skeptical, the gadget was not as easy as expected, the wires used to slice are not too sharp, but got the job done.

Sliced SPAM

Perfect timing. The Mouse picked up a package of sliced bread from the grocery store. Not toast thick, sandwich thin.

Fried the SPAM, sprinkled with a tiny bit of sugar and ground Szechuan pepper (the numbing spice). Wood ear fungus for vegetable.

SPAM Toast Sandwich

The Mouse’s “happy meal”. Hee hee.

Stay safe and well.

The Mouse’s Saimin

Frozen saimin, just dressed up a little.

To frozen saimin, The Mouse added SPAM strips, kamaboko slices, napa cabbage, braised pork. Since The Mouse did not use the soup packet (salt bomb), he flavored the soup with wakame, peanut butter powder, and wasabi paste (not real wasabi).

Ta da!

Trust me, there are noodles underneath. 🙂

Stay safe and well.

Plan A

Last in the series. Finally.

Zippy’s. Small wait.

SPAM Katsu Curry Plate

Battered deep-fried SPAM slices covered with Japanese style curry, rice and mac salad.

The Mouse glad he tried. If he had a choice, he prefers the eggplant curry. The Mouse’s opinion the strong SPAM and curry flavors fought each other while the eggplant had a softer neutral flavor that cooperated with the curry. But still, try try. 🙂

Stay safe and well.
