Jus’ cleaning out the camera phone. 🙂

Kalua Pork Sandwich

North Shore Grinds, not on the north shore, Kaimuki area. Not bad, better than the organic, uncured ham.

Steamed Rice with Butter and Vegemite

A riff on small-kid time dish. The Mouse’s father was not a wiz in the kitchen. When he had to “cook”, he could cook rice, fry eggs, fry SPAM, open tins of Vienna sausage. One of his go-to “dishes”, steamed rice, butter, shoyu.

Found out Vegemite is good not only on toast. Hee hee.

Inari Sushi

The Mouse’s favorite non-sushi bar sushi. Bought these on discount from the grocery store. Nom.

Roast Pork

Also picked up at the grocery store, The Mouse thought give The Cat a break, she’s been eating shoyu pork for lunch and dinner.

Soup Noodle

Buckwheat noodle, wakame seaweed, Japanese eggplant, and the roast pork. The Cat liked.

Happy Friday all!

Enjoy. Eat well.

The Mouse.

Garlic Rye Chips

Co-worker commutes by bus. Seems like he stops in at the local Seven-11 while waiting for his transfer. According to him, K, best part of Chex Mix. He may be right.

Rye Chips

Complimented the mini sandwich The Mouse picked up from Seven-11, what a coincidence, great minds … Hee hee.

Chicken Salad Mini Sandwich (Slider?)

Picked up at the farmers market the past weekend.

Dragonfruit

White flesh, mild tasting, the red fleshed ones are better (just our opinion), but so much more expensive. I guess supply and demand.

Last of the Pork Squash

Leftovers. Hee hee.

Hope to head over to the Japanese supermarket this weekend. Maybe there’s chicken feet, pork hock, or something for soup.

Have a great weekend.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Still “chained” to the office desk. Eating is hand food that can be eaten while still using the computer. Best to just nosh.

Peanut Butter Toast and Strawberries

Strawberries are leftover from the president’s breakfast gathering on Tuesday.

SPAM Onigiri and Clementine

The Clementine is also a leftover.

Taro Burger

Breakfast. Taro, luau leaves, and other supposedly good stuff. No substitute for hamburger, more like hash brown. For The Mouse, hash brown has to have catsup.

Taro Burger with Catsup, Dried Plums

Needed a fork for this one, but still could use the mouse (not The Mouse).

Can you tell? The Mouse likes catsup on certain foods. Go President Reagan!

Burdock Root, Japanese Style

Kinda finger food, with napkin. Hee hee.

The Mouse’s brain must’ve gotten stuck in nosh mode, even after work.

Lee’s Hamburger Delux from Local Boy Sushi

Not gourmet at all, super old school. Nostalgia yum.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Pig Foot Soup Update

Season being summer, The Mouse didn’t want to make a “heavy” soup/broth. Used only half of the pork foot (froze the other half). Didn’t think the broth would jell. But it did! Yay!

Sorry picture not too appetizing, in real life, exciting. Hee.

Consistency is not “glue your lips together” sticky, just a light sticky. Hee hee.

Remember this bottle?

Bluegrass Soy Sauce

From the food enthusiast co-worker. Finally found something to try it on.

Avocado!

The soy sauce (shoyu in SPAM Land) has a softer taste, not as much fermented/umami taste, different but good. At least on The Mouse’s tongue. Mahalo Keawe!

Pahole (Warabi) and Tomato Salad

Tossed with just Kaua‘i salt.

That’s it for now. 🙂

Enjoy. Eat well.

Holiday over. Too hot. Lazy.

Breakfast

Portuguese sausage, eggs, rice. The rice saved for The Cat’s bento. As a bonus, came with a drink.

Green River

Dinner/lunch was take-out from Panda Express. Eggplant and tofu (The Cat’s bento today), grilled chicken (The Mouse’s bento today), green beans with chicken, and steamed vegetables (last night’s dinner) Used one of their “survey rewards” for a discount. Not bad, three meals for a total under 10 bucks.

Looks like it’s gonna be a hot summer. Ugh.

Enjoy. Eat well.
