Smoked salmon leftover from The Cat’s Sunday brunch (the detour).

The Mouse lightly toasted a mini naan flatbread, scrambled an egg, picked a couple leafs of shiso from the outside bucket.

All The Cat had to do was fold and eat.

The Cat Nommed.

Enjoy. Eat well.

The Cat’s Flatbread

One of the reasons The Cat passed on her mudd pie this past Sunday was that there were tentative plans to visit the neighborhood Italian eatery for dinner with the hope of whiskey gelato for dessert.

The Cat started off with vegetable flatbread, happy hour special.

Vegetable Flatbread

The Cat would order again.

The Mouse didn’t fare as well. An overpriced chicken salad.

Chicken Salad

Tasted good (tender greens & arugula, roasted beets, Ho Farms cherry tomato, onion, spiced mac nuts,
chevre & papaya seed vinaigrette), the portion was just too small for The Mouse, even at happy hour discount. 😦

Alas, not whiskey gelato, but blackberry chardonnay sorbet.

Sorbet

An acceptable substitute.

What did Meatloaf sing? Two outta three ain’t bad?

Enjoy. Eat well.

Ended up here for dinner last night.

Can you guess where?

Can you guess where?

If you guessed here.

You’d be right.

Not sure if any of the guitars had historical significance but they were a nice wall centerpiece.

Display is pretty impressive, the guitars extend over the ceiling, the length of the restaurant.

More Guitars

Kinda an oddball place for us to end up, gotta remember, we’re older. Hair’s gray, less pep in the step, if you know what I mean. Heh heh.

But then again, the oldsters like Keith Richards, Eric Clapton, and the like are still rockin’ so why not.

Atmosphere is kinda noisy, it’s not called Hard Rock Cafe for nothin’. But The Cat liked the energy.

The Cat ordered a grilled vegetable flatbread.

The Cat’s Flatbread

Crispy flatbread topped with grilled vegetables: bell peppers, tomato, onion, mushroom, asparagus, roasted garlic with mozzarella and tomato sauce.

Just in case you still don’t know where you are, the restaurant sticks a marker in the dish.

The Mouse was trying to decide between their veggie burger (all vegetables) or a local creation, the Da Kine burger.

Our grilled Veggie Leggie patty is topped with a grilled portobello mushroom, zucchini, yellow squash and roasted red pepper. Served on a toasted bun with mayo, leaf lettuce, sliced tomato and grilled sweet onions.

Plus, with the Duke watching over you …

Meat won.

Da Kine Burger

Da Kine Burger

Hard Rock’s version of a Hawaiian favorite! Topped with grilled portuguese sausage, sesame soy glaze, grilled Dole pineapple ring, house made guacamole, pico de gallo, and Monterey Jack cheese. Served with local furikake fries.

The portuguese sausage and grilled pineapple pushed me over. Oh, and the furikake fries! 🙂

Burger was so tall, had to deconstruct it to consume. Which is what I normally do to burgers anyway (unless it’s a fast food burger).

Shared a dessert.

Fresh Apple Cobbler

Fresh Apple Cobbler

Advertised as “tree to table”.

Thick, juicy apples are mixed with the finest spices and baked until golden brown. Our fresh apple cobbler is so good you’ll think your grandmother made it! Served warm with vanilla ice cream, topped with walnuts and GHIRARDELLI® caramel sauce.

Pretty good. Not too sweet, in fact, it was a little savory. Nicely complimented be the vanilla ice cream.

Funny, as we were finishing up, noticed this on one of the placards …

The Aloha Burger

The Aloha Burger

Similar to the Da Kine burger except it’s double decker, and but instead of portuguese sausage, there’s … SPAM! Gotta come back! Hee hee.

Left just as the house band EMKE was coming on, the parking meter was calling.

Rock On!

Rock On!

Sorry, couldn’t find a shaka emoji. Sigh. 😉

Enjoy. Eat well.
