So far, Burger King, Jack in the Box, and Panda Express has various incentives to participate in their customer surveys. Being pake, try to participate as often as possible.

Burger King and Jack in the Box places time limits on answering the survey and using the perk. Sigh.

Used a “Jack’s” one last night.

Jumbo Jacks

Buy one, get one free. Hee hee!

Jumbo Jack, Tomato, Shiso

So, The Mouse not too fond of lettuce on his burgers, tends to slide around and make holding the burger a challenge.

Chopped lettuce is more logical to The Mouse than whole leaves. Same with sliced onions, chopped is okay, sliced, not so much.

Plus, The Mouse likes lots of tomato on his burgers/sandwiches. So, a little modification.

Burger, Mouse Style

Tomato, thinly sliced, sprinkled with salt and pepper, shiso, when available. Yum!

Oh, the “get one free” burger? Went into the refridge for tomorrow.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Panda Express.

A quicky lunch yesterday before “adventuring” with friends of The Catʻs brother. The Mouse usually shies away from Panda, call it a “perception thing”. Recently though, The Mouse has changed his mindset from “not Chinese enough” to “not even Chinese”. With that shift, places like P.F Chang and Panda Express become more appetizing since the food is “not even Chinese”. The Mouse doesnʻt try to compare the food to a “Chinese” standard. Now the caveat, The Mouse is not even close to having enough knowledge about “Chinese food”, not to mention the myriad of regions and the corresponding food styles (Szechuan, Cantonese, etc.)

Now the caveat, The Mouse is not even close to having enough knowledge about “Chinese food”, not to mention the myriad of regions and the corresponding food styles (Szechuan, Cantonese, etc.). Just personal opinion from The Mouse.

With that, The Cat and The Mouse had a short time before the appointed hour to meet with friends of The Catʻs brother (letʻs shorten it now to H and L). Even going to a ramen shop would involve seating, ordering, and waiting for the order … too long.

The Cat suggested Panda Cuisine, food already prepared, select, eat, go. Okey dokey.

After weighing the options (The Cat was thinking of a one selection rice bowl). The Cat decided on a kidʻs meal.

Panda Express Kidʻs Meal

For about a dollar less than a rice bowl, the kidʻs meal includes kidʻs portion choice of side and one entrée selection, drink, cookie (chocolate chip, not fortune), and a comic book. The Cat calculated and figured more bank for the buck (maybe not volume, but more variety).

Inside The Catʻs “Panda Box”

A liʻl bit of fried rice, steamed vegetables, and some chicken with long bean. The Cat was temporarily satisfied (she got hungry about two hours later, but that was due to portion size, not because the food was “Chinese”. Hee hee.

The Mouse ordered the “adult” one side and two entrée plate.

The Mouseʻs Food

Spicy eggplant with tofu, black pepper chicken, and steamed vegetables. Happy that Panda Express includes steamed vegetables as a side choice instead of the usual “carbs”. Just had a doc appointment and he is advising to cut back on “carbs”. Boo. Sigh.

Anyway, food was fresh (check out the color of the steamed veggies, still vibrant), taste was okay. Very acceptable for “not even Chinese food”. Hee hee.

Next time, gonna try the grilled teriyaki chicken or the broccoli beef, or The Catʻs string bean chicken, or maybe, even the mushroom chicken (moo goo gai pan rules! hee hee), with the steamed veggies of course.

Ordered, ate, and met the appointment time one time! Yay for the team and Panda Express! 🙂

BTW, The Cat wanted to share the table setting and view of the other nightʻs dinner with friends.

Dinner with a view.

Overlooking K-Bay.

Enjoy. Eat well.
