One of The Mouse’s go-to places not-so-small-kid time (think teen years) was Rainbow Drive-In. Their boneless chicken with gravy was the bomb!

Restaurant has franchised, a location on the way to or back from Costco makes access a little easier. Hee hee.

Restaurant listed a student special #2, The Mouse inquired if he could order, the server didn’t say no.

The Mouse and The Cat shared.

Chili and Rice Bowl

Chunky ground beef. Mmm. A close second to Zippy’s vegetarian chili. Same but different. Apples and oranges. Hee hee.

Fries

Pretty large portion. The Cat and The Mouse shared.

Slush Float

Strawberry slush with soft-serve ice cream. First time try for The Cat. Slush float used to be one of The Mouse’s favorites. But then, he developed lactose intolerance. Sigh.

At first, The Cat thought the slush float would be too sweet without trying. Result is The Cat liked. Paws up.

All three as a combo, less than eight bucks. Cheap eats!

Be safe and well.

Cheap Eats

7-Eleven, currently conveniently located en route between home and contract work. Dunno if that’s a good thing or a bad thing, maybe a little of both. Hee hee.

The Mouse’s Lunch

Hawaiian Weiner Musubi and fried fish musubi, both just over five dollars. Cheap eats. 🙂

Stay safe and well.

Lunches from the nearby grocery store.

Stuffed Pollock, Grilled Beef

The Mouse didn’t realize the fish had cheese in it until too late. The lactase pill sorta helped but The Mouse still experienced a little (tiny bit) tummy discomfort. Sigh. The Mouse did enjoy the meal, just suffered a little afterward.

Roast Beef with Gravy, Furikake Salmon

The Mouse enjoyed this meal too. No dairy this time. 🙂

Usually, The Mouse would save some of the fish for The Cat but in these instances, The Cat would consider these fish overcooked. The Cat can be fussy with seafood, very cat-like. Hee hee.

So, both lunches total cost a little over 5 dollars total each meal. Cheap eats.

Stay safe and well.

The Mouse had a coupon. Try try.

Cheap Eats

The chicken fries were kinda dry (chicken nuggets, different shape). The Mouse threw the chicken and French fries in a sandwich.

Weird Eats

Drizzled honey mustard sauce. Overall okay (more toward meh), lucky The Mouse had a coupon.

Also picked up a package of chocolate chip cookies.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Not bad, The Mouse’s opinion though, MickyD’s are better, the fries too. But always good to try.

Stay safe and well.

Some of our recent take-outs. 🙂

From Chef P., dessert.

Tapioca Pudding with Berries

The Mouse thinks Chef made this for The Cat’s birthday (a couple of weeks ago), Chef forgot. The tapioca was more boba-ish (chewy) than tapioca (soft), but still appreciated.

Tamago, Inari, and Poke

The Mouse’s lunch yesterday, from the grocery store reduced section. Just stocked, totally worth it. Hee hee.

The Mouse went to the nearby mall to pick a card, decided to pick dinner at the food court, ramen shop ran out of rice (sigh), picked side dishes.

Pork Belly and Takana

Boiled a carrot, added wakame, angel hair pasta, topped with pork belly and takana (mustard cabbage cooked with sesame oil and a little shichimi togarashi (Japanese chili powder blend).

Bowl of Noodles (Pasta)

The Cat slurped.

Stay safe and well.
