Salmon Bento

Wednesday lunch. Boss is still doing the Wednesday support of our customers. Pays for half of the cost of lunch for staff. This week, The Mouse chose salmon bento.

Salmon Bento

The Mouse paid less than $5.00. Not bad, a little on the smallish side, but good for office lunch, otherwise The Mouse might get sleepy. Salmon was well cooked, except the skin wasn’t crispy. The Mouse and The Cat are spoiled by Chef H’s cooking skills. 🙂

Stay safe and well.

The Mouse rushed out yesterday to get blood tests, today is a holiday. On the way home, The Mouse stopped into a modern Japanese deli for food (The Mouse had to fast overnight before the blood test). The Mouse thinks modern because the deli’s focus is more on musubi than typical okazu-ya food (teri beef, shoyu chicken, nishime, etc.).

Breakfast Bento

Covers many of The Mouse’s food groups, Portuguese sausage, SPAM, eggs, rice, and takuwan for the vegetable representation. Hee hee.

Picked up something for The Cat.

Salmon Belly

The Cat ate if for dinner. The skin wasn’t crispy like Chef H, but The Cat liked anyway. The Mouse made leftover rice jook with celery to accompany the salmon skin.

Ahi Cakes

The Mouse’s dinner, with the leftover baked potato from the burger meal the other night.

All in all good eats.

Stay safe and well.

Snack Pack

The Mouse’s dinner.

Snack Pack

From the Japanese member warehouse. The Mouse went to see if the papayas there were worth buying, they were, and since he was there …. hee hee.

Two cylinder musubi, fried chicken nuggets (better than any fast food chicken nuggets), half a hot dog, potato croquette, Japanese egg omelet (The Mouse’s dessert), and a takuan slice. Nom!

Stay safe and well.

Cheap eats and leftovers.

The Mouse picked up while grocery shopping.

Mini Fried Chicken Bento

Just right for The Mouse’s dinner. Two thigh pieces, vegetables, one scoop rice. $3.50, cheap eats.

For The Cat’s dinner, The Mouse boned the chicken, boiled the bones for broth, simmered leftover rice, a handful of frozen green beans (french cut), all over leftover miso butterfish.

The Cat’s Jook Hybrid

The Mouse also found fresh Brussels sprouts. Halved, oiled, salted, toaster ovened.

Toaster Ovened Brussels Sprouts

Charred, The Cat liked. 🙂

Stay safe and well.

Yesterday was another order lunch day from one of the warehouse’s customers. The Mouse wasn’t going to order, the prices were kinda up there, but the controller is picking up the tab for the accounting staff this week.

Miso Braised Short Ribs

To The Mouse, the taste was more teriyaki than miso, oh well, free lunch for The Mouse. 🙂

The warehouse is also trying to market a new brand of coconut milk. One of the managers made bread pudding with haupia sauce. The Mouse got to sample.
