Still Life?

Nah, just pics of The Mouse eats. Still not much happening food-wise. The Mouse did get to sample pre-packed chicken.

Boneless Chicken Thighs

Japanese/Chinese flavored (teriyaki?) flavored. The Mouse thinks this product might be for the ramen shop market?

Dinner was simple, almost breakfast-ish.

Cut Fruit

Apple and starfruit.

Pastries

The right one filled with raspberry jam. Only thing missing was milk or coffee, neither which The Mouse can have right now. Sigh. Although The Mouse tried oat milk (which he really liked) back on the big island, a little hard to locate here. Maybe coming to market slowly.

The Cat still on a soup diet. Getting better.

Pau for now.

Enjoy. Eat well.

That’s what my take-out box wished me.

See

And it was (Saturday).

Started out with this.

Plate Lunch – AJ’s Chinese Fast Food

Kalua pork and cabbage, lion head, bonus chicken long rice.

For dinner, Sweet Home Glad with The Cat.

The tofu was like croutons, crunchy and airy. The steamed fish, well cooked.

The high point of the meal.

Soft Shell Crab

Soft Shell Crab

Two whole crabs for under 10 bucks! Cheap eats!

So in summary, it was a nice day! 🙂

BTW, did your team win the Super Bowl? Just askin’.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Looked easier than in real life, maybe just need to practice a bit.

After a little more than two minutes (the length of the video) …

Mug Shot

Mug Shot

The radishes I bought didn’t have the root left on so no tail. Plus, I didn’t have black peppercorns in the pantry, had to use white peppercorns (shades of Three Blind Mice?). Actually I was going for the zombie mouse look (yeah right). 🙂

The Cat thought it was cute.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Culture Shock

One of The Cat’s clients invited us up to her apartment to “network” at watch the sunset yesterday. Apartment is located at the Diamond Head “gold coast”.

Appetizers and Vintage Chinese

Appetizers and Vintage Chinese

Roll-up sandwiches, cheese plate, spinach pie (spanakopita?), pumpkin, and pecan pie (along with various libation).

Appetizers, not pupus.

Very nice of Mrs. L to invite us … rainy all day, not the best of nights to view the sunset, no SPAM musubi, no poké, etc. Small sigh.

The Mouse ended up volunteering as bartender and kitchen help, not a bad thing.

Afterwards, The Cat and The Mouse needed “din din” (“comfort food”, our style).

Breaded Pork Chop Soup Noodle and Ginger and Green Onion Noodle

Mrs. L did extend an invitation for another gathering to “view the sunset”. Maybe we’ll suggest potluck and bring poké (or SPAM musubi), malasadas, or coco puffs (more culture shock). Hee hee.

Eat well.
