The length is approximately two-thirds the size of the length of what The Mouse is used to. Dunno the significance or reason. If anyone knows, please share. Thank you in advance. 🙂

Napa cabbage, bamboo shoot, wakame, ginger, salt to taste, sesame oil drizzle.
Simple, home food, good for The Cat’s stomach.

I was told by the man who runs my local Japanese supermarket that short noodles cook faster. Since more people are familiar with three-minute ramen and other “instant noodles,” I suppose the traditional noodle manufacturers are trying to appeal to that market. (In my experience though, most -men noodles need just a quick boil anyway.) My kids also used to complain long noodles were “messy” when they tried to slurp them up. I don’t know if that’s a thing among younger noodle consumers, but maybe the days of tying a napkin around your neck before you tuck into a bowl of noodles are over? 😀 Love your posts about daily meals!
