I’ve never tried it, but I was told that in Hawaii li hing powder is used when you want to sweeten something that’s a little tart. Like pineapple! 🙂 A friend ordered a margarita at a bar in Honolulu, and she said it came with li hing powder on the rim of the glass. She actually preferred it to the usual salt: to be honest, though, I never touch the rim on a margarita glass and usually sip the drink through a straw. Happy Holidays! I always enjoy your posts.
