Birthday lunch for Mrs. P. at Mariposa, a milestone birthday (not revealing age). Hee hee. Chef P. made arrangements with Chef L. (executive chef), who trained under Chef P. for some specials.
Complimentary salad.
Excellent start, dressing was the bomb. Nom!
Everyone except The Mouse ordered smoked pork chop.
A bed of risotto, grilled vegetables, not sure what the condiment was, everyone more than liked. 😉
The Mouse went with his go-to order, hamburger, medium rare.
The Mouse likes to order “regular” burgers at nice restaurants. Not fancy shmancy over the top “gourmet burger” (think truffles and Kobe), but a well executed burger. Chef L. did not fail to deliver. Nicely charred on the outside, perfectly pink on the inside. Mmm! 🙂
Complimentary dessert was peach meringue tarts with torched meringue. The Mouse thought he took a pic but did not. Fail. Sigh. Very good though.
Chef L. learned well. 🙂
