Mapo Tofu, Etc.

The Cat and The Mouse try “spicy” Chinese restaurant (Chendu Taste) in search for mapo tofu (The Cat’s been wanting for a while).

The food:

Mapo Tofu

The reason for the search. Ingredients included Szechuan peppercorns (tongue numbing), and fermented black beans. The Mouse thinks just a touch more spice. But good as is.

Another dish The Cat was in the mood for.

Smoked Pork Belly with Bamboo Shoot and Bell Pepper

The Cat thought this was recommended by a friend, maybe ordered incorrectly? Not what The Cat envisioned, The Mouse enjoyed anyway.

Spicy Cabbage

In The Mouse’s (and The Cat’s) opinion, best dish of the day. Salty, little spicy, with Szechuan peppercorns. Seasoning went very well with the cabbage. Not to mention the cabbage was cooked perfectly, cooked through but still crunchy. Mmm.

The Cat approved a return sometime. 🙂
