From the previous post, The Mouse saw pics of beef stew with tendon (Chinese style) from a hole in the wall Chinese chop suey house near the warehouse where The Mouse works. Parking is an issue, especially during weekday commuting hours (tow away zone).
The Mouse specifically drove to town to try yesterday.
Not bad, quantity was huge, two meals, dinner for The Mouse, bento for The Cat, very tender. The Mouse didn’t get to try the tendon went to The Cat’s bento. Priced decently. Could’ve been a little more aggressively seasoned. The Mouse couldn’t detect any five-spice seasoning. But that’s just The Mouse. Also, not sure the beef was brisket, little too lean. But, try try.
The Mouse also ordered char siu bao buns, relatively cheap.
The Mouse added shiso leaves (the maybe last remnants for this season). Dunno, but the buns somehow remind me of Audry II? Any resemblance is unintentionally coincidental. Hee hee.
Stay safe and well.
