A pit stop for The Cat and The Mouse between Kona and Hilo.
Quaint, rustic restaurant. Mix of tourist and locals. Menu reminded The Mouse of tourist menus back before the Hawai`i Regional Cuisine movement. Interesting.
The Mouse order. One of the better fried fish sandwiches in recent memory. Oven baked planks of potato.
The Cat’s order. The Mouse remember small-mouse time on the menu. Wow!
Still “exotic”.
Highlight was the restaurant’s pies.
Super old school, nothing wrong with that. Server gave us an extra piece because it was “damaged”. Hee hee. Score!
Oh! The Mouse had to show you the bathroom signs. Who said this place is a throwback to another time? For the reading and emoji enabled.
🙂
Enjoy. Eat well.
