The Mouse tries tamale for the first time.
Nom! The Mouse likes wrapped food, lau lau, pastele, jung, etc. Tamale fits right in. Yay!
At the same time, The Cat tries horchata for the first time.
Kinda like Mexican soy milk? Without the bean taste, The Cat likes.
Now for the rest of the week.
One of the butchers at the warehouse caught a wild boar, a very invasive species here in SPAM Land. In his spare time he smokes meat. The Mouse was lucky to taste the cheek portion, very yum.
The Mouse finally picked up pork bones, order was last week but the warehouse couldn’t find the package, ugh. Head butcher reordered and repackaged. There was supposed to be tails in the mix. Very little tail portions, mostly ribs and backs. Lotsa soup coming. The Mouse will try and salvage tail portions for a cooking experiment.
Finally, The Cat picked up a package of mini naan from Costco.
The Mouse used whatever available and made a ham, apple and shiso mini naan “soft taco” sandwich.
The Mouse forgot a little smidge of mustard, next time.
Enjoy. Eat well.
