Last time tried to get into Tim Ho Wan was a no-go.
This past Sunday, ran an errand, The Mouse had an impulsive thought. What if, The Mouse tried to eat after the initial morning crowd, since traditionally dim sum was a breakfast event?
Went there about 3:00 in the afternoon. No waiting … Score!
Only limitation was that ordering for one is limited (The Mouse’s stomach capacity is only so big), on the plus side, don’t have to order by committee (The Mouse most times defers) and The Mouse doesn’t have to share. Hee hee.
According to one of The Cat’s acquaintances, restaurant is known for their rice dishes, so …
Winner! Kinda like Chinese loco moco (but without gravy). Definite order again.
About the gravy? According to server, restaurant makes their own soy sauce.
The Mouse did taste a slight difference. A few drops on the egg, good to go. Hee hee.
Another winner. Some restaurants are kind of skimpy with the shrimp filling. Here, very generous.
Filling almost as high as the eggplant. Well prepared. Eggplant crispy on the outside, very soft on the inside. Yum!
Another order again dish.
Finished off with a little sweet.
The weakest link. Good, but when compared with the other dishes, okay. Maybe slightly overpriced? Just slightly.
So, the reconnaissance mission a success. Can’t wait to go back and try their char siu bao. Another recommended order.
Enjoy. Eat well.
