Plan was to try here.
Hong Kong restaurant carries one Michelin star. Hyped in SPAM Land. The Cat wanted to try. The Cat’s mother was in tow.
Restaurant is “first come, first served”. The party before us gets those restaurant pagers, ugh! Hostess anticipates a 90 minute wait. Sigh!
Luckily, there was a tentative backup plan. In the same complex.
Seated right away, no reservations, no problem.
Supposedly closing at the end of June. They’ve been there for years. Location and perceived price kept us away. One of The Cat’s doctors recommended with the caveat that dishes are made to order, might be a bit of a wait.
.
Came with rice and egg drop soup. Prices are not bad. Maybe pricier at one time and then all the other restaurants’ pricing came up to par. Location (Waikiki) and parking still a hindrance (at least for locals).
Also came with rice, no soup. Rice went home for The Cat’s bento and rice soup. (Thumb up).
Aptly named. Texture too smooth for The Mouse.
The Cat approved.
Well prepared. Fresh shrimp.
Kinda like an overstuffed spring roll. Not bad.
Good.
Best dish of the day (The Mouse’s opinion). Toasted rice, gravy (soup?), meats and vegetables. Nom!
The Cat approved. Wants to go back before they close. No regrets for missing Tim Ho Wan.
Enjoy. Eat well.
