Not familiar with “Southern style”, but The Mouse will give it a try.

From watching TV, looks like some Southern method of cooking vegetables is low and slow, so canned greens, Southern style seems to fit.
The Mouse made a plate, warmed in the toaster oven.

Canned Vienna sausage, leftover baked potato (from Sunday), and canned turnip greens.
The greens were a little too “seasoned” for The Mouse’s taste. An “acquired taste”. The Mouse not used to the flavoring/seasoning.  Didn’t mind the texture though. Maybe next time, give the greens a quick rinse to tone down the seasoning. All in all, not bad, just not something The Mouse would actively seek.
Try try. Hee hee.
Gonna get some canned spinach. 🙂
