A former co-worker (thanks M) and a stranger that struck up a conversation with The Cat recommended here.
The Mouse has been avoiding Mexican cuisine due to his age related onset of lactose intolerance to dairy. And since past experience with Mexican food included a load of cheese … well, the best defense is avoidance.
But, The Cat wanted to try. So, with a container loaded with lactase pills, The Cat and The Mouse went to try try.
Salsa had a bit of heat, but not intolerable to The Cat and The Mouse. Off to a good start.
Server suggested a bowl. House-made. Awesome.
Uhm, no. Adventurous but, a little too early for that.
The Cat’s order. Covered with mango and avocado, The Cat’s favorite fruits. The Cat also liked the beans.
The Mouse’s order. Only cheese was a little bit on the beans, easily handled. Came with three small corn tortillas (in the foil). Well cooked. Not pork belly (I think it was shoulder), but very acceptable.
Ran out of flan for dessert. Reason to return. Hee hee.
Enjoy. Eat well.
