Not exactly eaten on the street, more like what I imagine “street” food to be.
An unusual Friday. No clue what lunch is to be. Headed toward Rainbow Drive-In but got distracted. Ended up here.
Lunch special, “Shanghai” style won ton in soup. Uhm okay, try try.
I guess the filing made it “Shanghai”?
Pretty tasty, a touch of sesame oil. Yum.
Didn’t read the description fully, only won ton and greens in the soup, no noodles. Sigh.
Ordered a side of steamed buns.
Soft, pillow-y, slightly sweet, no fiber whatsoever. Hee hee. Used to like ’em with condensed milk but alas, old age has caught up with The Mouse (lactose issues). Sorry TMI.
While waiting for The Cat to carpool, had a little snacky at Shirokiya Japan Walk.
Plastic cherry blossoms and lanterns hanging from the ceiling. Guess it’s supposed to evoke a market atmosphere.
Grilled sticks! Yay!
The hearts and tongue were awesome, the gizzzard, not so much. Too chewy (even for gizzard). Good to try though.
No seating inside, took the skewers to an outside bench facing the parking lot. “Street” eats. 🙂
Definitely going back for the tongue and hearts. Too bad I didn’t have the steamed buns then. Hee hee!
Enjoy. Eat well.
