Before the rains really let loose, a quick trip to the farmers market.
According to the vendor, the red flesh are sweeter (and more expensive) than the white flesh.
The “SM” on the package is “smoked meat” not the other stuff. Hee hee!
So, finally I picked up pa‘i‘ai and smoked meat together.
Tried pan frying the pa‘i‘ai (at the suggestion of a couple of people).
Smoked meat, celery, banana, fried pa‘i‘ai with Kaua‘i sea salt. Awesome. While the fried pa‘i‘ai was great, I think I still prefer out of the package (even refrigerated).
