Okay, seems like phone and computer are back in sync. There was a lot of swearing, stomping, pleading, and cussing from yesterday, mahalo for your patience. Technology … bleh.
The Cat got invited to lunch last week, Chengdu Taste. Little over a month ago we tried: https://l2ee2l.wordpress.com/2016/06/04/friday-eats/
When The Cat and The Mouse tried, we requested mild (read wimp) spice level. This time around, the host ordered no spice (zilch, nadda).
Coincidentally, except for one variation, the dishes were the same as when we tried.
Too much garlic for The Cat and not enough salt. I guess when they ordered “plain”, the chef interpreted the request to be bland.
When we ate here, we ordered the fried rice with twice cooked pork (one dish). Semantics. Hee hee.
An old song by Jim Croce comes to mind.
You don’t tug on superman’s cape
You don’t spit into the wind
You don’t pull the mask off that old lone ranger
And you don’t mess around with Jim
I would add you don’t go into a spicy restaurant and order bland.
Chefs don’t know what to do.
Enjoy? Eat well.
