Jus’ cleaning out the phone (which is starting to fall apart on me by the way). 😦
This week’s soup (not chicken feet, not oink tails).
Cleaned, pre-simmered, cleaned again, and final simmered with ginger, vinegar (just a touch), and vodka (another touch) for six-plus hours. The results?, lots of gelatin. 🙂
The Cat slurped.
Years ago, grew up on canned fruit (don’t ask, still in therapy 🙂 ). Wouldn’t have bought this can this week except for two reasons. The first, the success of the jelled dessert at Temura Ichidai the other day (gelatin is a good stuff 🙂 ), and it was suuuper cheap at the market.
Refreshing during the “warm” humid weather we’ve been experiencing.
Haven’t been here in decades (literally).
The last time I was here, I was still attending school. This might’ve been the first place I had sprouts on a sandwich ( oh oh, really carbon dating myself). After school, the location became out-of-the-way (until recently).
With sprouts of course. 🙂
And since I was in the area …
From Breadbox Hawaii, one of the “hot” bakeries right now.
Sufficient amount of kalua pork, spinach kinda disappeared, but the sriracha taste was there. Kalua pork and sriracha, good eats.
Lastly, the bento shop (Kokoro Tei) nearby sprinkles bonito flakes and shoyu on the rice on some of their bento selections. Absolutely love the taste.
I once asked if they would sell me just the bonito shoyu rice as a side dish … No. Sigh.
Found a small opened package of bonito flakes in the freezer this morning.
Experimented today if I could recreate it.
Followed directions on the package.
Sprinkled the bonito flakes and shoyu.
Exactly the taste I was looking for. Nom!
Not bad week so far.
Enjoy. Eat well.
