For now, Sundays are sleep days. Too much going on the other six days. Sundays are used for hibernation and recovering.
Except yesterday. Supposed to gather at the ancestor grave to pay respects.
Except, our communications got crossed. Arrived at the site almost two hours early, deeply cutting into our much needed naptime. Instead of waiting, we bowed three times, explained to the ancestor the situation, hoped she understood we couldn’t stay for the full blown ceremony, bowed three times again and left.
Next, hunt for food. When The Cat is overtired, like yesterday, best thing for her is soup noodles. Sooo … first time for The Cat, third time for The Mouse, headed over to Sweet Home Aunty for some hybrid hotpot/noodle soup.
Vegetables, a couple of shrimp, some tofu, herbal broth, and rice noodles on the side. The Cat liked.
Vegetables, tofu, kabocha broth, egg noodles, and lots of cilantro (from the condiment table). Third time the slurp.
I think The Cat’s eyes were bigger than her capacity to scarf. Had to get a kitty bag.
Restaurant gives you a flat piece of material made out of the stuff that recyclable grocery bags are being made out of, place the take-home container in the center, gather the edges, and the flat piece of material becomes a bag, looking like a fish net. Ingenious yea? Cute.
Home a little after noon, The Cat went to nap.
The Mouse cooked pig feet soup and steamed sweet potato for The Cat’s lunch/dinner this week.
At the suggestion of a reader (thanks Of Goats and Greens), added about a tablespoon of vinegar to help draw the collagen from the bones.
Dinner was a quicky so that The Cat could go back to sleep. More soup noodles, this time home-made, Mouse-style.
Whole wheat spaghetti, dried seaweed, broccoli, and a somewhat “poached” egg, sea salt to taste.
So to borrow from The Bangles, just another Manic Sunday. 🙂
Enjoy. Eat well.
