Yesterday’s special from the bento shop around the corner.
One of my favorite Japanese dishes.
Unfortunately, a little after 12:00 noon, they were sold out, I got there about 12:15. Sigh.
Settled for their nori bento (cheapest on the menu).
Pickled ginger, braised burdock root, fried fish, fried fishcake, two sheets of nori, dried bonito flakes, and rice. All for under four bucks. Cheap eats.
I do like the dried bonito flakes on rice. I guess a not bad “consolation prize” alternative.
Dinner was a “raid” of the refrig and pantry. Wanted to get to bed early. More of an “eat to live” sorta meal.
I know, more dessert food, but, they were handy.
Leftover from The Cat’s lunch, didn’t fit her bento container.
Surprisingly, the beans (sweet) and the greens (slightly bitter) paired nicely.
And I was able to get under the covers early. 🙂
Enjoy. Eat well.
