Sunday was not a fun day. Ended okay though.
One of The Cat’s clients needed to do something that “required” The Cat.
Plan was to attend to the client (estimated to be about an hour), then go off and have brunch/lunch. Didn’t happen. 😦
Client’s appointment ended being several hours long including lunch.
The Mouse was left to his own devices.
A ramen “bistro” I was curious about has a branch near where the appointment was (I was chauffer). Thought I’d check it out.
Ordered their Okinawan Rafute Donburi.
From the menu: “Succulent pork belly stewed in a rich and tasty glaze until the flavors have been infused into the tender meat.”
Hmm. The pork was cooked well, the glaze in proportion to the rice was too little, and there was hardly any flavor. What flavor was there was one dimensional. Could not detect any ginger, or five spice, or heat. 😦 Kinda a fail in my opinion). Sigh. Not a nom moment for sure.
You would think that having this over your door should be a sign of well made pork.
Good thing there were enough condiments to “rescue” the pork.
All four bottles were used.
Note to self, if I ever go back (unlikely), bring pickled ginger.
The Cat did not fare much better.
Which she judged to be so-so. Not a nom moment either.
Dinner rescued Sunday.
Home made, by The Cat and The Mouse.
With red dates, ginger, salt and pepper. Nom moment. 🙂
Didn’t have pickled ginger in the refrig. Maybe pick some up later.
Enjoy. Eat well.
