Escape – Engage – Indulge. That’s the tagline of the restaurant Saturday.
A newly reimagined restaurant I was curious about.
Mac nuts instead of soybeans. Winner! Imaginative. One of our new favorite foods. The texture is a lot rougher than soybean tofu (coarser on the tongue), but the taste more than makes up for the difference. Didn’t even need the soy “broth” that accompanied the dish. Just ate it plain.
Plus the restaurant donates part of the proceeds to charity.
Another not-so-usual dish. Another winner. Ate it with the accompanying salt (bottom right of the plate) instead of the usual tempura dipping sauce.
Eight ounce New York sirloin.
Miso based sauce.
Daikon, green onion, and garlic chip garnish.
Sautéed onions and mushrooms.
Fried potato wedges.
Not so epic as Chef W’s steak plate, but still very good.
Large piece. Could’ve been a bit more charred for The Cat’s taste. Personal preference.
Instead of a bowl of rice.
Because it’s tradition. Not bad, the chasiu was nicely cooked and thick. Had better ramen at dedicated ramen shops, But for tradition sake …
Extremely dense. Nice flavor, not too sweet.
Chocolate phyllo pastry, peanut butter mouse, whipped cream. Does it get any better? I think not. 🙂
This concludes the epic weekend.
Happy Monday. Sigh.
Enjoy. Eat well.
