Traditional Chinese:炸醬麵, Simplified Chinese:炸酱面, thick wheat noodles topped with a mixture of ground pork stir-fried with salty fermented soybean paste.
New place, positive write-ups, intrigued.
Chinese restaurant, I think Korean owned. Food is Korean interpretation of Chinese food.
Sweet onions with hoisin sauce, kimchi, takuan (yellow, see previous post for discussion).
Ate family style, The Cat invited her padawan at the last minute.
Stir-fried mixed vegetables, steamed mandoo, spicy eggplant.
Both The Cat and her padawan said the zhajiangmian wasn’t Chinese style. Good, just not Chinese. We could’ve passed on the seafood noodle, but try try.
My favorite were the zhajiangmian, mandoo, and eggplant. Maybe go back to try other things, jury still out.
Their sweet sour pork looked interesting, it was almost on every table (except our). Have to find more people to dine family style.
Now looking for authentic Chinese zhajianmian. Sometimes it’s not the destination, it’s the journey. 🙂
Enjoy. Eat well.

Yum. 🙂
