No, it’s not a Pokemon character, Korean: 떡볶이; also known as teokbokki, ddeokbokki, topokki, and dukboki. “Braised” sticky rice cake in a spicy sauce.
Dinner with The Cat’s “padawan” (D).
Pretty awesome.
Giant sized. Half filled with meat paste (so so), half filled with chopped vegetables (pretty good).
The Cat’s observation, a giant rice ball. I think if the “burger” was grilled or charred on the outside, the texture would be more “burger-like”.
Didn’t know D likes tteokbokki so much. She’s been to South Korea twice.
We asked for it “mild”. The red is more “bark than bite”. A little spicy, a little sweet. D was happy.
The Mouse’s favorite. Definitely go back for this one.
Because it’s the restaurant’s grand opening and we ate the required amount, this went home with D.
Enjoy. Eat well.
