Literally.
In a basement of a medical building. In a hallway. No seating, two folding chairs to wait while your order is prepared. A cut-out window to order.
Doctor’s appointment today, Tommy’s Coffee Shop. They used to run a lunch wagon near the office I used to work at, father and son. The father passed away, and his son and daughter continued the lunch wagon. The son (brother) left to become a sheriff and it was too much for the daughter (sister). The lunchwagon disappeared and the daughter went back to the medical building to help the mother. I used to frequent the lunchwagon pretty often back in the day.
The medical building is kinda out of my way, but since I had an appointment in the building around lunchtime … 🙂
Pork a tad too lean for my taste.
Luckily there was mac salad to provide “lubrication”. I wanted tossed salad, maybe the order got lost in translation.
The banchan was a pleasant surprise, they were never offered on the lunchwagon. The food was as I remembered it many years ago. Portions still the same. Price went up a little bit (to be expected), give them a tenner and got back a decent amount of change. Food’s not gourmet, but homestyle cooking, old school way. And for that, socks off. 🙂
Have a good weekend.
Enjoy. Eat well.
